Q: We've been reading of lots of deregulation coming in the U.S generally, but especially in the financial sector. Pundits have taken to saying 'animal spirits will be unleashed'. Additionally, I wonder if orange imperialism will tend to trickle down to C suites. Can you suggest a Canadian name or two in relevant sectors that might be more likely to be taken out?
(With the proviso that their debt levels be on the low side for sector average.)

Q: Greetings 5i Team,
I hold these securities in a TFSA and am looking to add a new position. At the same time, I will be trimming some of these as they have done very well.
Could you make a few suggestions for a new addition? Growth is the objective and diversification need not be overly considered (I am well diversified within other accounts).

Q: I hold a small position of CROX in my TFSA and non-registered accounts with a small gain. With slowing growth in the forseable future, I am contemplating selling. Am I too quick to give up on CROX? If I sell what could you recommend I replace it with?Either Canadian or US exchanges. I would be leaning for a suggestion more suitable for TFSA account.

Q: Hi there. As always, we really appreciate your insight into the markets and your thoughts on the evolving landscape. We have held Royal Bank for many years in a portfolio for our grandchildren and it has done well on an annualized return basis. It is a core holding but would you suggest going into a basket possibly being the better move going forward as market uncertainty seems to be growing? Do you have any names we can explore that might better capture future growth and allow a bit more diversification? Do you see Canada as an index finally outperforming the US this year with the sky-high valuations of the Mag 7? Thank-you!

Q: Just reading about this company and they are buying back 2.3 million shares for the purpose of “cancellation”Could you explain to me what this means other than the obvious of helping their EPS and not having to pay those dividends,am I missing anything here I e just never heard that term before.Also what would be a good entry point for this stock for a 1-3 year hold. Q: I was thinking of adding my recent TFSA contribution to EQB however then started wondering if some of the growth oriented US$ holdings in the account would be a better option. 5I has been positive about EQB but I wonder if it will have a lack lustre performance due to it being in the weak Cdn economy….that is, it may be a good company but limited to how well it can do.
