Q: Hi folks, how significant is the announced partnership between Nuvei & Adobe...markets liked the news with 6% pop...is this a "new" partnership for Nuvei??, and if so, what future potential could come the way to Nuvei...I believe they recently hooked up with Microsoft in similar payments process (albeit relatively small)...after disasterous Q2...is there light at the end of the tunnel????....thanks as always for great service, jb Piedmont QC

Q: It's been awhile since you've been asked about and provided an opinion/update on NDVA. Even though putting money into this stock might be a bit of a flyer, could you please provide your comments on it, as well as what your expectations would be for their upcoming earnings report would be? Additionally, any concerns/comments on the private placement offering they've recently announced?
As always, your advice and insights are always greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Don

Q: Re: Retirement decumulation strategies.
Fredrick Vettese has several good books on the subject, including "Retirement income for life".
Selling shares in a total return portfolio to create income is an option seldom talked about.
Cheers

Q: Hi, Would you have any thoughts on how HPS.a stock traded today, touching an all time high of $96.75 at the open and then reverse course to close 5% down from previous day's close, with momentum on the downside, for most part of the day ? This, of course, followed stock price going up almost everyday in a straight line for past couple of months.
Does it indicate a near term term Top in the stock ( at least between now and the results in early March ) ? Also, do you think, it could simply be profit taking after an incredible 300% run over past 12 months, and there has been no adverse or material change, specific to the company and the industry ( demand related to transformers/electrification/grids , competition etc). Noted that company weight was bumped up to 3%, in your model Portfolio, last week, so 5i, likely has strong conviction in Hammond Power and comfort at current levels. Thank You

Q: Can I please get your view of Benjamin Hill Mining (BNN). Buy or wait it out?
Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Many times when you are asked for a good dividend stock for a long term hold QSR makes the cut. Today Marco asked for top 5 consumer discretionary names, it did not make that cut while AW.UN and PLC did. Do you view QSR less positively than those names?
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Could give an update opinion on this one-not doing well ?
Q: Hi. As the stock is down 10% as I write this, can I assume their results were less than stellar?
Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Yesterday Marco asked for your top 5 consumer discretionary names going forward. I was a bit surprised to see PLC in the top 5 while MG(shown as consumer discretionary in your company details) was not. Do you view MG less favorably than the 5 suggested names?
Thanks and have a great day

Q: To minimize taxation, would you recommend holding FIH.U in a registered or an unregistered account? It appears to be a limited partnership but pays no dividend at this time and would only be subject to capital gains tax. There could always be special distributions in the future.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: Could you please provide your general impressions of Chesswood Group Limited's review of strategic alternatives announcement? The review completion deadline of March 31, 2024 mentioned in the press release is not too far away. Thank You

Q: I am looking for other canadian residential reits to buy with my funds from selling TCN. I think with interest rates topping out and very possibly declining later this year, reits are a very good, safe place to invest. Can you suggest any other canadian residential reits that have good upside from here and give a decent dividend? I am thinking of ERE as well as HOM. Any comments?

Brookfield Office Properties Inc. Class AAA Preference Shares Series AA (BPO.PR.A $18.40)
Q: Hello 5i Team
My understanding is all (12 issues) of the Brookfield Office Property Preferred shares (BPO) were removed from the S&P TSX Preferred Share Index (TXPR) effective Friday January 18 (the quarterly rebalancing date). My understanding is the BPO shares were removed because S&P downgraded them to P-4 on December 21, 2023.
However I can find no mention of this re-balancing event on the S&P website or other news sources. I have previously seen new releases from S&P when companies are added/removed from the S&P TSX 60 and S&P TSX Composite index.
After reviewing the holdings listing for the CPD etf (which tracks TXPR), the BPO shares are now removed.
Is there any other news sources I should be monitoring? This seems to be a material event that S&P did not disclose?
Thanks
