Q: Good day,

I currently own the subject shares in my TFSA portfolio. Are these stocks still worth hanging onto with the current volatility? I was considering selling everything and going with Vanguard or iShares.

Q: Good morning 5i team
I am a retired, conservative investor who recently reduced the equity portion of our portfolio to raise cash for possible market "opportunities". Our largest equity holdings are TD, BNS, ENB, EMA and BCE. Thanks to 5i, we also hold SIS, NFI, BEP.UN and GUD. If we get a significant market sell-off, would you please recommend 3 or 4 stocks that have a good competitive advantage, modest debt and good growth potential. Thank you for your advice. Edward

Q: Howdy!
I am slowly repositioning the Canadian equity portion of my RRSP portfolio to emulate your Balanced Equity Portfolio.
About 27% of my portfolio is sitting on cash right now; I do not yet own the listed companies - Are they all good to buy today? Or please rank them in order of value for purchase today versus perhaps holding off a quarter or two.
Thank you

Q: The company looks good and valuation seems reasonable given growth prospects. I've seen your positive comments on it.
However, why are they not paying dividend?
Given recent news regarding Toys R Urs Im wondering if its a low margin business that is purely a volume play. Or is it too dependent on high capex and inventories which lock up cash flows for long periods. Two questions on this
1) What are the net profit margins like in this sector and specifically for Spin master
2) Does Spin Master make good free cash flows and is the FCF growth really good looking back historically? How do you see the future given their international spread
3) Why is the company not paying dividend if it has a stable business with reasonable growth? Is it because of focus on growth over rewarding shareholders?

Q: I'm looking for a reasonable dividend yield plus growth potential and looking at above three stocks to invest for long run.
1) If I need to pick two of them which one would you recommend ? If you can share the reasons it would be great.
2) If you were to pick only one which one would you go with
3) Out of these three which one is more shareholder friendly or oriented towards building shareholder value.
4) How you will rank them based on quality of management? Do you see any issues w.r. to management quality or style of functioning in any of these.
Thank you for answering my recent questions on PLC and KBL - it was very helpful.

Q: I'm thinking of following your lead and selling Stella Jones in my TFSA. Also, I have a small amount of cash to deploy. I hold the above stocks in less than full positions. Which would you add to at this point? I could also include COV although it's near a full position after it's nice rise. Also, what are the implications of holding an American growth stock in a TFSA. What would be your top 3 suggestions if you were going to add an American stock. Charge as many credits as necessary! Thanks.

Q: Good morning
Could you name a few other companies that you cover that have management quality similar to CSU

Thank You
Clarence

Q: I realize these companies are all very different in many ways, but I want to add 2 or 3. I'm completing the BEP and adding to the GMP. Could you rank them in terms of "best opportunity," meaning the share price does not reflect the quality and potential of the company. In other words, seems mis-priced in terms of your valuation of the company because share price is down for no apparent good reason from a fundamental perspective.

Q: I have sold some of my winners to rebalance and would like to sell the above to offset some of the gains. Would you replace the above with other stocks or just wait 30 days and repurchase these?
Read Answer Asked by stephen on May 29, 2018
Q: Could you please some clarification on your response to Stephen this morning on his desire to crystallize some of his capital gains? You suggested that he sell the above and replace them. Did you mean not wait the 30 days to rebuy these but to get something now instead? I had thought you were especially supportive of TOY and AQN so have your thoughts changed on these companies?

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Hi, I am trying to raise some cash and reallocate for buying a new position ( TCL.a).
Most of my holdings have done well ( many same as Balanced and a few from Growth 5i Portfolios) with moderate to sizable gains since inception with the exception of above names ( Negative YTD Only). I like the prospects of some of them with portfolio weights TOY (3.5%), SIS (3.5%)and SJ (2%).
BCE and ENB are fairly old holdings with 3.5% weight each and have not been acting well for a while. Over past few months, I have sold all KWH.un and most of ECI
( reduced to 0.75% weight), due to rising rates and other company specific concerns. DOL (1.25% weight).
Will it be reasonable to eliminate ECI and DOL (small positions) and/or reduce BCE/ENB ( BCE more due to muted growth prospects and ENB due to its high debt and pipeline sector concerns).

Thank you for your valued advice.
