Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: These four fine companies are all RSI oversold at present. I know you like all of them, or have, and am wondering if they could be considered strong buys at these levels ( for long term holders) or whether best to wait and see what the coming weeks bring us all. What order of priority would you give them for current investment? BTW, thanks for the consistently calm and perspective-driven approach you take in your advice.

Q: Hello 5i team,
I've held a good number of stocks you hold in your BE portfolio and I've managed to obtain a 14% compound annual total return in the last 11 years.
100% of my portfolio is in equities; I'll be shortly 77 years old and plan to reduce my equity exposure to 30%, with the above stocks in mind.
Your opinion is most valuable

Q: Hello:
I am looking for a conservative, growth orientated, low dividend payout company that will give me capital gains. Dividends are a low priority. Any thoughts on CNR, CP or ATD or other companies that would satisfy my objective. Thanks in advance.

Q: Hi Peter and 5i team,
The listed stocks are held in our grandsons RESP. (Age 6) .We have some cash that we would like to deploy. We originally thought People Corp would be a good addition but you warned it is a thin trader and could be volatile. In your opinion what would be your top 3 ideas for a new position.
Thank you

Q: With the world feeling a little uneasy about a pending recession, I want to keep only holdings that will weather a downturn. I'm not trying to time the market, and want to hold stocks, that while they may dip, have good balance sheets, good management, and will likely see a recovery. Others I will sell and hold the cash. Above are my current holdings. Do you see any that may be susceptible to excessive weakness in a recession and would therefore meet my sell criterion? Thanks,
Kim

Q: Hi can you please tell me your thoughts on BYD.UN Been coming off the highs fairly rapidly (down 6%+). I am sitting on a lot of cash (20%) and was thinking of adding to my 4% positions also same applies to ATD and CSU . Strategy is to add to the winners does that make any sense in this choppy market. Please deduct as you see fit. Thanks
