Q: Well, that was some week, throw a dart and you would of made money. So why did this happen, it was not suppose to listening to all of the Wall Street Pros. a week earlier, maybe just buy good stocks that make money and stay invested.
Thanks again.
A hypothetical question. In a tax loss scenario where the stock in question has been sold and now has risen post sale, at what point do the benefits of the tax loss no longer come into play and it makes no sense to buy it back( unless of course it continues to go up). Is there any way to figure this out in general terms or do you have to weigh it out in a case specific manner. Post if you wish
Thank you
Q: do you know anything about this swiss based company. their gene editing therapy looks very promising. is it a binary outcome or something more positive. dave
Q: I am of the opinion that the Bank of Canada will lower rates before the Fed in the USA. If I am correct the value of the Canadian dollar relative to American dollar will decrease. Could you provide the names of 5 companies whose revenue is primarily in US dollars and their expenses are primarily in Canadian dollars?
Q: I have a follow-up question to my Oct 26th question asking what are the 3 most important ratios to use when evaluating REITS. Your response to my initial question was "We would consider debt ratios (debt to value), with caution above 55%, cash flow to interest, with caution below 2X, and dividend payout ratio, with caution above 80%. Book value can be important but is often over or under-stated and needs to be looked at carefully. Valuation metrics (price/cash flow) are also important."
For NXR.un you calculated those ratios as NXR.UN 48%, 97.1%, 1.6X.
Is the Dividend Payout ratio calculated after the interest payment? If not, does that mean these companies are taking on debt to pay either the interest or dividend?
Q: In a non registered account, there is no tax on hsav monthly interest neither on hewb monthly dividend. When those ETF are sold though,do one has to pay tax on the total of interest accumulated in the ETF or on total dividends accumulated (+capital gains)since the acquisition,or tax shall be only due on capital gains ?
Q: Stock tanked on recent results...I saw something about one of their products cannibalizing the other. I'm really curious on your thoughts on this one and is it a buying opportunity? The company seems well run and managed and has been a half-decent performer. Can they shake this and turn it around?
Q: I know you have done this before, but with reference to recent results for both companies, could you compare and rank these two companies. TOI gets a higher grade A- on your most recent report, and LMN gets a B+. As I read through the responses to questions, it seems that LMN is preferred, but I thought TOI's results were better than LMNs. But I must confess I do not understand some of the "preferred" charges. It appears that LMN suffered a huge loss. I realize that both are long term investments, but I'm just trying to get a sense of portfolio allotments. Thank you for fantastic service, as always.
Q: Hi, Could you please comment on the quarterly results out Today. Do these numbers and commentary provide any further support to 5i thesis on this name ? Thank You
