Q: Recently, David Friedberg was asked for his prediction for the worse performing asset in 2024. He said he would be short vertical market software (SaaS) and be long cloud providers that have AI tools and platforms that will allow enterprises to build their own custom applications in a low-cost, low code way. If things play out this way, do you feel it could pose a risk to CSU’s business model?

Q: If an ETF distributes a high proportion of ROC every year ,and if I never sell this ETF,could the adjusted book value become "negative" at some point ? If not, this would mean that the maximum capital gain would always be limited to the NAV if sold ,even if the distributions ,after many years, would exceed the adjusted book value ! there is also a tax advantage as long as it is not sold..

Q: Which would you recommend and why
Manulife or exchange income fund
Thank you

Thank you
Q: Is this a good entry point to buy BTI? Is the dividend safe? In which account should I hold the stock to maximize after-tax return? cash, Tfsa, rrsp in cdn or us$
Thank you
Thank you
Q: Would you be comfortable with a full position in HPS.A? Thank you.
Q: I hold both Peyto and Arc Res. I feel it would be prudent to only hold one of these. Peyto yields 10.2% vs. Arc at 3.3%, Pey more oil, Arc primarily gas, PE ratios are nearly identical at 6.8. LTD levels are similar considering the size of the companies.
I also hold PXT which I could sell and invest the money in these 2 names. Any thoughts? Thanks

Q: In your opinion, is it worth holding on to AQN for the potential benefits of it's renewable business sale/split (and whatever other news follows), or sell now and invest in to companies with more proven management and stability e.g. I'd be putting the proceeds mainly in to BNS and TD.
Q: This stock has struggled compared to its large cap competitors such as CNQ and SU. I have a position which is underwater and in your opinion is it a buy, sell or hold. Thanks. Rick
Q: What are your views on ftco.us .Thanks Phil
Q: Good afternoon 5i
I have noticed that recently you have been recommending stocks like Nvdia as having the possibility of short term growth. I have sold call options on Nvidia on a regular basis but wonder if I might be better holding off on this strategy for a time, beause of the possibility of short term growth you mentionned. I do only sell a small portion of my Nvidia for options and keep some in reserve, so I will not completely miss an upside move. But, still we hate to see the stock move well above the strike price. How do you approach a situation like this?
thanks

Q: Hi team,
Since it's been a little while since LMN announced it's acquisition of some Nokia assets, has there been any more information found on perhaps more of the financial details of this acquisition? I was thinking that somebody must know some details? Perhaps analysts that had been familiar with Nokia might know the revenue estimates of the assets that were sold to LMN? The stock moved up dramatically since the acquisition; almost like someone was in the "know" . Just curious here. Also...at what point would you consider LMN a "buy" again (I had thought it was previously mentioned that the shares might pullback some after the quick run up). The shares have pulled back some in the new year...should I be patient before adding or just buy now? I was debating on either buying either LMN or BN for a long term tfsa contribution and cannot decide which one,
Thanks,
Shane.

Q: Good morning ,
Just trying to clear up HPS market cap.
On the 5i company data section, Yahoo Finance, and the Globe it has the market cap listed at aprox. $970 million, but google finance and TD have it aprox. $743 million. Any idea which is right? Thanks. - Jeff

Q: PINS was included in a question asked on Jan 1 but could you give an updated answer on PINS specifically? Thanks so much!
Q: seems like a bit of a long shot high volume some analysts have high expectations could you comment please?
Q: If FFH still attractive given its recent appreciation? On Nov 11, you said, "If rates stay where they are for longer, FFH could perform well from here" - agreed, but won't there be a point at which the market starts baking-in the implications of their decline - that is, at which it expects FFH to become less profitable? Or is this more of a Brookfield situation, in which we should expect FFH to capitalize on its interest-rate-driven windfall by, say, pivoting to growth opportunities?
Q: Peter,
