Q: Hello,

I currently hold a position in IFC and it has performed well. I'm considering increasing my investment, but with the recent pullback in SLF, it’s also presenting an attractive opportunity.

Would you recommend adding to my IFC position, selling my full IFC position to invest in SLF, or maintaining my IFC holdings and initiating a new position in SLF with fresh capital?

Thanks in advance!

Q: P&C insurance sector has shown signs of weakness, over past several weeks, perhaps due to higher catastrophic losses and pressure on auto premiums. Intact Financial stock has also not been immune and has seen its stock decline over 10% from its recent high of $317. Latest earnings release disclosed weakness in commercial lines, in addition to premiums rates in US.

IFC has been a long time favorite of 5i and stock has performed well, barring the recent softness.

Question is that after 2-3 years of strong performance by P&C sector, do you believe the present weakness to be simply transitionary or it is indicative of a reversal/change of direction in the industry fortunes. And if it is even partly true or possible, how is IFC positioned to protect its business model and revenue/profitability for shareholders ?

The follow up question is that considering these factors, does IFC continue to still present itself as compelling opportunity for a long term investor, as a core position in the portfolio, ignoring everything else as noise ?

Thank You

Q: Looking for your thoughts on the earnings and why the 6+% drop. I went through the news release and only issue I see was with UK and US results. Is that enough to move the stock that much in a day? The CEO seemed quite positive on the results and future prospects. Seems to have been trending down over the past month after hitting all time highs. Would you consider this current price a buying opportunity? Thanks for this great service.

Q: Peter and Team, for these 3 positions, what are your opinions of the earnings vs expectations, and the guidance released today ? In particular the IFC report seemed good though the reaction was negative. Thank you.

Q: My daughter's portfolio consists of the above stocks (CSU, ENB ,IFC, ISRG, SIS, SHOP, WSP, ZSP). She likes to hold good stocks for along time. She Is comfortable with moderate risk and has a long runway for investment. She has money to invest and would like to add stocks which would improve the balance of her portfolio. Could you suggest a few stocks to help her achieve her goal. She is not adverse to owning 1 or 2 higher risk growth stocks. Thank you for your help.

Q: Hit "enter" to fast on my last question. Looking for some ideas with the understanding you can't offer direct recommendations. I have 40 K to add to my non-reg account. I have full positions in all the pipelines, OLY, GWO, BNS, CU, NPI, BIR, PEY, TPZ, CNQ, PRL and BMO. I have no need for any income for at least five years, not opposed to going overweight if necessary, have lots of higher yielders so would perhaps benefit from some choices with capital gain and dividend growth potential versus just high yield.

Q: Hi,
What is you insight on TSU-T? Is it a good and better risk and reward pick after it fall from the highs of C$40 in Insurance business? Is there major problem with its business? Will it recover or its better to go with Intact IFC:T or Fairfax FFH-T?
Thanks
