Q: Sorry for another question about Go Easy , but at this point, (in a RRSP) is it still worth holding vs risks . Would you leave it settle or at this point , with such a small % of portfolio (1%)) its better just accept and sell. Would IFC be a good replacement? I’m open to other suggestions as well.

Q: Recently we have seen many blue chip stocks that had done really well pull back.

Companies like RBC, TD, BN, SHOP, MFC, CNR, CP, JPM, GOOG, MSFT, BRK, and others…

What are your favourite five Canadian and US large cap names that have pulled back recently? Would you be a buyer today or would you wait until the market settles a little?

Thanks
Tim

Q: SLF & IFC: I have held both forever and by far - not even close, IFC has out performed SLF in terms of capital appreciation and dividend growth. Yes, the yield is less with IFC at $1.33 per Q vs SLF at $0.92 per Q with a yield of 4.21 vs 2 for IFC; but, I will take both dividend growth as share price appreciation any day. I know, not a question; but, when you report yield comparisons about companies should you not include the whole picture? I bought IFC at $44 and SLF at $30 for example.

Q: I am not particularly proud to acknowledge that I own the above- but I do. ENGH and OTEX are in accounts that are structured for income and some growth, while DSG is in an account that is looking for primarily growth. Canadian traded is key for all. Looking for your input on these companies and whether there are better options that I am missing.
No hurry to reply; deduct credits as necessary.
Seconding the comment today regarding your recent report. Well done and I hope that now you have it you continue to update it as companies come and go. It is a great resource.

Q: After a quiet year, P&C Insurance stocks are showing some buyers' interest, over past 2 months. We sold IFC and FFH positions, late last year. Do you think, the sector is showing some strength and it is a good time to re enter ?

If Yes, what would be your preferred route- Fairfax or Intact and why ?

In my personal view, Fairfax stock has shown remarkable resilience vis-a-vis Intact and Co is more diversified, with several interesting investments like Foran mining, Orla mining etc and potential for more similar investments. ( They sold their position in Eurobank ).

Thank You

Q: These stocks are held in my wife's RRIF - just turned 71 - start withdrawing 2026. QSR, NTR ,GSY & GRT.UN small positions. GSY added this year. Thinking of selling GRT.UN - stock has not done much & very small dividend increaser, QSR (500 shs) small position - not big dividend grower - thinking of selling, NTR held fora while - up a fair bit 44%, 500 shs - sell? Comments if you agree with my analysis and if so, what should buy or add to this account?
