Q: I’m a senior but still like to maintain a majority weighting to stocks. I am concerned though about market valuations and the strength of the whole economic system. With that in mind would you suggest Berkshire as a good stock for me? can you suggest 5 or 6 other names that have excellent downside protection?

Q: I asked a question on PM soon after the takeover bid concerning the possibility of an increase in the share price before closure of the deal. Thanks to your answer, I held on and, lo and behold, the price has increased some 10% in the last few days. As before, I has difficulty in getting news (all I got so far is a circular about the meeting to vote for the deal). Is the price increase due to a dividend? Thanks as ever. henry

Q: Where is the best place to look for news like PM, if you don't have Bloomberg? I missed it completely. Who is taking over? and at what price? Thanks Henry

Q: What do you think of the take out price? Do you think there will be an offer from another company? Do you know when the deal will close and is it worth selling into the market now and redeploying the cash while the market is down. Thanks.

Q: It would appear that the departure of their CFO was not anticipated given there is no named successor and the negative market reaction.

Does this change your opinion of the company?

Q: Would prism be a logical acquisition for savaria? How complementary are they?

Q: This might be a tough question but I am pretty sure you would have seen it before. I need strategic help. I can’t seem to sell a losing stock. I am paralyzed by the fear that by selling I lock in the loss. Or that at the current price it is actually the time to buy the stock.
Surprisingly even with this list of losers my portfolio is actually up. Much to the credit of 5i. So I don’t need to sell but can’t help thinking that the money could be put to better use. I am also pretty sure that there could be different advice for each stock. But anyway here is my list. What do you think? Sell or hold?
