Q: Hi, are there consensus numbers for Spin Master earnings next week? I'm curious to see if the consensus numbers are lower for the Q1 to reflect a likely higher-than-normal return rate, which as you said before would likely show up in Q1. Or do you think everyone is just looking past this now with the recent positive new product and corporate announcements. My guess is that they will show a double amount of return rate (I was interested to see that if you look at their past financials, there is usually about 5% or so allocated to this anyways, so just a fact of life for electronic toys I think), which will have a measurable impact on the Q earnings but not a large impact.

Q: Back around the New Year, there was much concern about TOY and the reaction to consumers complaining about the Hatchimals they purchased as gifts. 5i suggested patience and reiterated their confidence that TOY management would resolve the issues. I thought, therefore, that it might be worth noting the following comments made by the lawyers for the plaintiffs who had filed a class action lawsuit that was withdrawn a could of weeks ago.

"Mark Geragos, the lawyer who voluntarily withdrew the law suit on behalf of the plaintiff added, "Spin Master's proactive response was very successful and, to date, they have either responded to all of the outstanding questions or provided replacements, or refunds to consumers. We applaud Spin Master for the highly effective manner in which they have dealt with their customers. Given these factors, we have decided to voluntarily withdraw our class action."

This speaks highly - again - to the quality of advice we members receive from you. TOY is now trading at all-time highs.

Q: Looking to add a full position in your balanced equity portfolio ( which I am slow adopting). Currently overweight financial and energy so those are off the table. Could more or less add any other class and be ok for weighting. Recently added OTEX and ENGH as tech stocks so those are off the table along with MG, wsp. Which havew the best buying opportunity right now....wish I had picked up MX earlier this week when it tanked 4% on weak earnings...

Q: I purchased some of this stock for an RESP about a year ago. It has climbed nicely. The company seemingly achieved a good measure of success before going public. What are your views of this company and the stock going forward?

Q: I am always leery of a company where the insiders do not have any or perhaps very few common shares--Instead they have--options--multiple voting shs--performance share units--subordinate voting shs etc.Common shs mean to me you got some skin in the game--I dont understand all these other classes of shs---TOY is a good example of this.I dont like options thats no commitment at all and hurts the share price.Should I be concerned about these other classes of shares? What do they all mean?

Q: Hi. Since joining your service I have slowly sold my mutual funds and built up the portfolio listed. I have an equal percentage of these listed except M at 16% AVO at 1.6% and SGY at .6 %. I have a mutual fund left at 6% that I would like to sell. For a balanced portfolio today what would you recommend I purchase? 3 - 5 year timeframe. Q: just noticed that on US stock exchange toy went up only 2% while it climbed 10% in canada yesterday. Is this a good opportunity to buy on the Us side this morning ? Or will it not follow the canadian price ?
