I don't have any margin accounts and definitely do not plan on getting any but, I do have many questions regarding them.
1. what accounts can use margin?
2. how does one generally qualify for margin?
3. can the broker essentially make a margin call at any time?
Q: In Canada we have lockdowns so everyone is home wearing out mattresses .In the US no lock downs so dont need new mattresses. snbr in us up 80% this year. ZZZ in Canada is flat or down.Is there that big a difference between the two markets and is ZZZ a screaming buy
Q: Greetings:
Stelco is down $ 2.59 today, apparently because there were rumours
that they were going to do a secondary offering. Management denies
this. McCreath thinks steel has a long runway now, even though this
company has been broke more times than air canada. Your opinion
is what counts to me. I have been following it for some years now,
but always too cautious to buy. Frank Mersch recommended it some
years back.
Thanks,
BEN.

Q: We are in the process of transferring some under performing RRSP mutual funds to our self directed RRSP investment account. Our TSFA's have been maxed out with mostly growth oriented stocks. Presently, we have a smaller self directed RRSP with limited number of positions. With the transfer we will have a sizeable amount of money to reinvest in our RRSP accounts. Would it be advisable to mirror one of your model portfolios, or consider all the above positions and add accordingly?
Are there any of the listed companies you would suggest increasing positions on and any in which should not be added to at the present time?

What do you think about the Uranium sector? Do you think it has peaked or there is a good chance it will still climb. Can you give me a rough estimate when the spot price will peak or be close to pre Fukushima days? Is there a good chance the spot price can reach pre-Fukushima days? I also find it very difficult to find a live price of uranium on the internet. Can you please recommend me a trustworthy phone app and website that can provide an accurate price for uranium? All the phone apps for stocks give the spot price for every metal except for uranium.

With Chinese flocking to their theaters as a sign of what is to come post Covid, do you think the pent up demand in Canada will save CGX? Or is CGX now too debt laden and too risky for investors to bother?
I don't like speculation so I guess I want to know if the worst is over and this is a real investment opportunity in a company which now has enough time to overcome its misfortunes and see better days ahead.
Q: What are your thoughts on ITP, I'm up 50% and it seems to me its time to let it go and move on as it has been dropping since its high two months ago. This is my first question here after a year and a half of learning from all the great answers to others questions. Thanks for your great service.
Q: In a well diversified portfolio, I am considering selling BMO, CU, PHO, REAL, and SJR.B and buying AT, BYD, DOO, DSG and VII. Would you agree with this approach? What would be order to sell and order to buy?
Q: You no doubt recognize parts of this list from a recent write up u did.
I have owned Kirkland gold for quite some time
If I wanted to add to my above gold position with the ones I have listed above , would u rank your favorites please.
I quite like photon, is there another in the space u would look at to purchase at this time.
I am quite enthusiastic about XBC which has fallen from its high, should I perhaps add more
At this time . Do u continue to like it and is there a competitor to it Cdn or US you would recommend to buy. Thank u always for being there with good info and clarity
Q: Looking for some sage 5i advice,,. ! own warrants that have yielded a good return and want to continue to own BRAGG shares. Accordingly, from a capital gain (tax) perspective is it better to exercise the warrant to own the shares OR sell the warrants, trigger the capital gain then buy the shares? When is the capital gain recognised if I roll the warrants into shares? Finally, how do I redeem the warrants for shares on TD WebBroker?
Q: I am planning to buy a half position in one of these companies, partly as a defensive holding. Even though the markets are up significantly in the last 6 months, shares in both these companies have been in fairly steady decline totalling over 10% in that time. I find it difficult to buy when a stock price has negative momentum. Do you have any indicators of what is leading to the price decline and when it could turn around?
