Q: I hold the above in a RIF and have weighted to cover the required withdrawal amount with dividends. Does this sound appropriate and if not, would appreciate your thoughts. Do you see a major loss of principal if markets continue its downward trend. Thanks for all your help.

Q: At the beginning of the year I had to liquidate 30% of a taxable portfolio. I managed to sell stocks that minimized my income taxes, however, as a result I sold all of my Financials, Materials, Utilities and Energy stocks. I now have 10% to add back and will be contributing another 20% sometime later this year. I do not think I will be needing these funds anytime in the next 5+ years. I am looking at taking half positions in PKI; GSY; BEP.UN and AEM. Your comments about my stock selections would be appreciated.

Q: I am very impressed with your ability to limit your balanced portfolio to 25 stocks. Currently I hold the above six stocks in the financial sector whereas you hold three. The only one with large imbedded gains is REF.UN which I have held for over twenty years. one third of our total portfolio follows your balanced portfolio. The other 2/3s is managed for us and includes a large allocation to canadian banks. I am willing to sacrifice some stability for more growth. Would you consolidate any of the above stocks to simplify the portfolio? Below is my current allocations. My bias is to keeping REF, GSY and ECN.
2.23% aif
3.16% ref
2.36% ecn
1.90% fsz
2.54% gsy
1.86% slf

Q: I am wondering whether it is time for me to dump these two and put the money into something with a bit more of an uptrend. Am thinking of SIS for one. What's your opinion on the future trends of these three for the next 1 - 2 yrs?

Q: What do you think of a strategy to buy convertible debentures from GSY as well as Altagas Receipts as additional investments to match against margin borrowings - they cover the margin interest for twice the amount invested in them.
It is possible the banks increase their interest rate even if Bank of Canada does not. How do you expect these two securities to react?
Also, how can one buy the GSY debentures - my investments are managed with a self directed brokerage account.

Q: Can you rank the stocks best to worst in your opinion. These are the stock s that are in my Financial Services Sector. Would you add, swap or remove any of them? My portfolio holdings/thoughts are very similar to your BE Portfolio. I was thinking to remove RY. Thank you and great job.

Q: Hi can you rate the above four companies in terms of long term growth potential, from best to worst. Safety should play a minor factor as well.

Thanks
