Q: Hello 5i,

We are considering moving our ENB position into two other stocks, CNQ and EPD.
1. Is CNQ considered to be a safer haven than ENB at this time with higher 3-year upside?
2. Would you recommend EPD over ENB now and for the next 3-years?

Cheers,
Debbie and Jerry

Q: I am underweight the energy sector. I was planning to but TOU or CNQ for 5 year hold. Which would you recommend? Do you think investing in energy sector at this time is a good idea especially if one is underweight that sector?

Q: Good Morning 5i,
I would appreciate knowing your outlook for Gibson Energy (GEI). In the past couple of months there was an article in the Globe & Mail that there could be more to come on the M&A front. It listed several companies that could be up for sale and GEI was one. The article said that GEI management was looking out to improve shareholder value and company sale (not just assets) wasn't out of the question. Since then GEI has become the first energy company in North America to link it's credit facility to meeting sustainability objectives. The stock has not performed as well as other energy stocks during this time and I have continued to hold it for the potential takeover aspect. Do you consider a take over is possible and if so, what companies do you consider would be potential candidates to takeover GEI? Thanks

Q: I’ve been out of energy stocks for a few years. Do you think it’s a good time to add some exposure (aside from general diversification). Any favourite names? I was considering CNQ or TOU but open to other suggestions. Do you feel metals or energy will be stronger here?

Thanks

Q: I own these 2 majors and I'm up 15-20% on them so far. My question is that many people are now talking about value stocks and that energy and financials are good plays. It seems like a lot of people believe energy might be entering a multi year bull market (Eric Nutall!). I've traded these over the last few years since they always seem to pop and then go back down with political climate or economic sensitivity. How do you know if this time is different? I don't want to sell too early, but I don't think $100 oil is coming back.

Thanks,
Jason

Q: Hi Peter & 5i team,
I have topped up my TFSA contribution limit and now have a considerable amount of cash to deploy. Currently I have the above mentioned names and am looking for a good dividend growing stock addition. In your opinion, what would be your top three suggestions.
Thank you for your opinions in the past and present.

Q: Hi Peter/Ryan, I'm a 63 year old conservative investor and I've held CNQ from 2010 where I bought it at $34.00 where it's been a roller coaster since then and as you know it dropped to about $12,00 in March. I've held it for the dividend and since it's back to where I first bought it in my unregistered account I was thinking of selling it and transferring it to my TFSA and not taking any loss. How much upside do you see it having from here and do you think it's still worth holding or would you invest the money elsewhere, if so what is a good replacement for it. Thanks as always for your insight and the great service we get from you guys. Nick
