Q: When comparing SAN to JPM, I was surprised to see that SAN-ADR significantly outperformed JPM over 5, 3 , 1 years and YTD. I did not compare appreciation in shares of SAN in €. Notwithstanding remarkable appreciation in share value YTD, SAN still trades at below market multiples in its industry. Having used SAN’s services (business and personal) I find this bank to be well-run, and customer focused, far superior to Barclays , Lloyds et al . Am I missing something that justifies the low valuation? If not, do you think SAN is a good investment that could also be a reasonably good diversifier? .

Q: BN is sitting at 7.5%, AXON - BKNG are 5% and the rest are 3% positions totaling approx. 83% of my stock assets. I have some 1-2% positions in my cash account (GSY, ATZ, PRL, CLBT, HPS.a, BNS,SU, TMDX, TVK and CNQ. I'm heavy tech, financials and industrials going into H2 2025. Would you add to, remove or change anything is this was your account (assuming you're 52 and plan to retire in 8 years). Not looking for a person allocation but rather if it was you, what might you be looking to adjust, if anything. Note I have no utilities currently. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Q: I am preparing to invest cash again.
Where we sit...a low point..in the economy and sentiment....could you suggest 3 Cdn dividend stocks ( and 3-5 US growth stocks and 5 ETFs (balanced and global) that represent a good buying opportunity in these poor markets...that have the potential to show very good returns over the next 5 years out.am preparing to deploy cash into the market.
I would say I am a investor that can tolerate 80 in the medium risk category and up to 20 % in higher risk holdings.
Timing is not a good thing to factor in, but things appears a like a recession is coming if not already here...would you sugest averaging in? and over what period of time.
Thank you
p.s. Currently all I own is RBC, Sun Life and PIMCO Monthly Income.

Q: Similar to my last question, but looking to the US, I am interested in having a group of companies that are great companies and want to develop a grouping of these -whether they have a dividend or not, as part of my portfolio. Companies that have a competitive advantage, great leadership, quality assets, not too high debt and continue to execute with continuous improvement. Could you give me what you consider to be the best Great US Companies for each sector or industry. Thank you.

Q: The above private equities companies have taken a significant dive over the last few months, disproportionally volatile coamoted to the SP500. Can you please
1. Comment on the reasons for market underperformance in this sector
2. Are any of these must owns ? (I know BN is a favourite of your’s, I own a 3% position)
3. Can you rank them in terms of preference for total return over 5 to 10 years? I am open to you including onex in the list.
4. if I wanted to increase my exposure to financial (I am underweight financials, and moreso on the US side), would you look to topping Brookfield or adding a second name?
5. How much sector exposure to this sub sector would you recommend in terms of Portolio allocation for a growth invester?
Thank you and please deduct credits as you deem necessary.
Best,
Karim.

Q: Two part question here. I am trying to add PEG ratio to my thinking about stocks. It seems like a useful metric that combines growth with value. But I don't see it listed frequently enough for Canadian equities. I presume you work with trailing P/E and divide it by growth rather than forward P/E. Is that correct? I also realize I should be looking out for oddities in trailing P/E that shift it one way or another. Anything else I should be looking for? Second, I look at GOOG and it reads well at both a very reasonable forward P/E and PEG under 1. Are there other stocks you see with that combination? Thank-you.

Q: Given that they had been put into the penalty box because of past transgressions with account openings, I had a thesis that WFC would benefit significantly from the Trump administration plan to deregulate. Unfortunately, my timing was off, the shares had already increased and dropped after I invested. At this point I wonder if I should abandon my thesis and move to another financial holding. In your view, would GS be a better investment? And why? Alternatively, although Regional banks were hit hard in the past, FITB seems to be favourably viewed; would that be better than WFC or GS? And if so, why? This is in a TFSA and looking for growth, not income. Many thanks for your excellent service.
