Using your 5 criteria: momentum, revenue growth, roe, shareholder friendly, and value-momentum; what 5 Canadian stocks would you suggest?

If possible, companies that would survive this current market stresses.

Q: Hello 5i folks,
We are wondering what comments you have on the news we read in the local newspaper this morning concerning Fortis having avoided 2.2 billion in taxes over the last 5 years. The report was released by 'Canadians for Tax Fairness'.
We own Fortis shares and wonder if it is really the great company we think it is?

Q: Hi to all.

Presently retiring in a few months and looking for income.


Presently we own XHC in our RRSP account and thinking of changing over to LIFE.


Would this be a good switch in your view, or is there a better option?

Q: When NNRG reaches my next target price, I plan to do some additional trimming (for asset allocation reasons, as well as to fund some topping up of existing positions in my TFSA.

In which order would you add to the following, based on where we are at in the market cycle and where you see the best current value: XIT, PBH, PLC. Please add a brief reason why the sequence.

Q: WGO came out with their earnings and the stock is currently down a whopping 12% despite beating.

DOO in sympathy, I assume is down 5%. Guess DOO will be facing the same headwinds as WGO.

What is your assessment of the situation/

Q: In March of 2020 BMO traded at 56 C$ and BNS at 46 C$ a difference of $10..

Fast Forward to today BMO $122 and BNS $65 a difference of $57. To say

BMO has outperformed would be an understatement.When I look at forward PE BMO still looks better. Time to move on from BNS and buy the bank that executes better.

Q: All four securities are held in a US TFSA at ~2% - 2.5% positions each. I would like to deploy available funds to either take two of the positions to 3.5% or add to all four at 0.5% ea. Seeking market recovery growth over the next 2-4 years, which strategy would you deploy? If only two were added to, which ones would they be, if it were you?

Q: Great October Market Report. I notice that in the 2008 and 2020 periods, job opening numbers began to decline only after higher rates had plateaued for a period of time. Today, job opening numbers have started to decline before higher rates have begun to plateau. Does this suggest the FED has gone too far to fast...and is poised, or could be forced, to quickly pivot? I'm just looking for a good reason to step into ZAG, or XBB for some decent yields and opportunities for capital growth. Thanks as always.

Q: I am planning to sell these names for tax-loss. Should I buy a replacement for each to protect against a turnaround in the next 30 days, or do you think I'm better off holding the cash for that period given the current outlook for equities. If you still recommend replacements can you offer a suggestion for each - or perhaps only for some? Thanks.

Q: BAM announced several months ago that it intended to spin out their asset management business. Have they released detailed info yet on how and when this is going to happen? ie will BAM shareholders get shares in the new company?

Q: This stock has been a tough ride for me. Bought it for income and some growth as my only exposure to the defense sector. The dividend cut and share price decline leaves me thinking its time to sell and move into another defense stock with higher growth opportunity. Would you agree, and if so, any recommendations with similar dividend, or one that at least has a dividend (held in RSP).
