Q: In consumer staples I currently own PBH and have for years in a registered account. Wondering if it's time to move on to either L or ATD. How would you compare these and which do you prefer? Thank you

Q: I have held Freehold for a little over 2 years, and am no more than even on the stock price (but at least have the dividends). Similar to James' question today, I am thinking about selling FRU and moving to an energy income ETF. I have been looking at EMAX, but was not aware of ENCC that was mentioned by James. EMAX is new, but I like the North American approach vs ENCC which appears to be only Canadian companies. Could you compare the pros and cons of each ETF, including taxation of distributions, call strategy and any trading premium to NAV. Do you have a preference of one over the other? My objective is some sector exposure and income, more than capital gains.

Q: I would like to get some exposure to nuclear energy. What would you suggest? Do you like any of these companies?

Q: I own a modest position in Hudbay Minerals (HBM). I was underwater on the stock but now I am up nearly 40 per cent with the recent run inculind today April 9. I have owned this one in the past and I have always sold it when it goes on a run and then I buy it back when it slides a few months later. Unfortunatley I did not add to my HBM position when it was badly beaten down in 2023. I don't want to add to this one but I am thinking of selling since that has served me well in the past. But this time I think it may be different since the "copper is the metal needed for the electrification of the world theme" might actually taking hold. HBM also produces a sizeable about of gold so I am not sure if that is driving the recent surge in the share price. What do the 5i guys think and would you buy, sell, or hold HBM without just shy of $11 per share?

Q: There has been an upward trend in silver the last bit. Would you know the reason for this? Do you believe this trend will continue for the remainder of 2024?

Q: I see Piper Sandler just issued a SELL rating for SHOP. The stock has been weaker than the overall market the past few weeks. Is there anything out there that is causing the drop? What factors are at play here? Is it still one of your favourites?

Q: Everyone, I have been watching the above growth stocks since late last year. I usually have one or two high growth quality stocks that will add to the average returns of my portfolio. My last purchase of a high growth stock was LMN, which I purchased last September, with an average price of $20.50. The ones I am watching now have risen significantly and I am hesitant to buy into them since they might decline 50%. So should I buy a small portion of each to maybe a 10% holding of my overall portfolio? Or should I wait till……..

PBH has done well for me overall but not the last couple of years. Meanwhile I had PRMW and dropped it at about $17. Which one do your prefer going forward for a long term hold?

I recently took a flyer on PRL and have a nice gain in a registered account, which has made me wonder if it's sustainable or if it might have topped out.
I see that in March alone management sold in excess of $18M worth of shares, with CEO Clive Kinross leading that charge at a million shares sold for almost $15,000,000 in return. Meanwhile, over the past year insiders have bought very little. I know management sells for all sorts of reasons that are unrelated to their view of a company's prospects, but in this particular case do you think there is cause for concern?
And secondly, is the current high P/E a sign it may be time to take the money and run?

Q: Hi, I hold both of these and while both seemed to be recovering a while back, BEPC headed back down and now BIPC is also tanking the last few days. What's your view on these two Brookfield companies? Do I sell one or both or hold and wait this out? Thanks for your help as always.

Q: What is your opinion on the use of CDR's (Canadian Deposit Receipts) for the purchase of US Stocks? Also, what type of accounts would be the most beneficial and be the most risk in the use of them, RRSP, TSFA, RESP, or non-registered accounts?
I've recently purchased Palo Alta, Visa and Adobe using CDR's and it seems to be a way of getting US exposure while avoiding the immediate approximate 30% currency exchange, while using a CAD hedging process.
If you are somewhat positive on CDR's, what other US stocks would be good considerations.

Q: I want more US exposure, but would be moving Ca $ to US $. Is it best to exchange ones cash to buy US ETFs such as VIG.US, or to buy a Ca ETF with US exposure? What would be equivalent to VIG be? Thank you.
