5i Research Answer:

LFE.PR.B are the preferred shares of the split share corporation Canadian Life Companies Split Corp. The Class A shares have resumed their dividends again, after multiple on/off years because of the dip in net asset value. Net asset value is $15.19, and Class A dividends are only paid if this is above $15. We like the preferred shares much better than the common shares. But the fund only holds four insurance stocks, and frankly we think owning these directly would be better overall, with no fees and far more upside potential. But for income investors we would still consider the preferreds OK in general, but we do not like the Class A shares so much.
