Q: I am confused. Based on the daily news, and what I see economically and politically going on south of the border, I have believed for some time we are headed for trouble. And I mean Trouble with a capital T. So I have been increasing my weighting in gold and silver, I thought I was de-risking, but precious metals are getting killed (along with most things). What did I get wrong? What do you believe is the biggest driver of the current market mood?

Q: What is your take on the huge pullback on precious metals, specifically gold and silver. I always had some exposure to it; added more a few months ago when things started taking off, took some profits, and what I have left is taking a wallop. IMO, in the long term is there is still demand for gold and silver so am hesitant to cut losses only to miss a rebound.
Q: Hi 5i,
What would be the reason for POW downturn in the last few days? Thanks.

Q: I have mostly income holdings with some large growth stocks (GOOG, META, AMGN, MSFT). Having sold UMAX now looking at HHIS or HDIV. HHIS seems to fit the bill of both growth and income. In a mostly value portfolio I would hold 1% or $16,000 of HHIS for income. Is this reasonable with some risk or is adding to HDIV a better choice? HHIS has a total value now of over 1B up from its initial few million. 80 year old income investor with a 5-10 year horizon.

Q: Hello,
Can you provide a few names in US and Canada which you consider good value plays? Also, costco despite its PE being high continues to surge higher. Do you think it is worth keeping or sell some? Lastly, can you recommend a good website for stock charts as i find yahoo is not reliable as it used to be.. I like to see 1 , 5 , 10 year charts etc Thank you

Q: Greetings,
Is the sell off in NOVO Nordisk warranted? Seems a bit harsh me thinks.
Just when the stock was pulling out of a tax loss selling nose dive, it now seems to have run out of gas and is falling again.
1) Should we view such a steep drop as possibly an over reaction? Should we wait to see if a bottom forms before stepping in? Buy, sell or hold?
2) I know 5i favours Eli Lilly but has most of the growth already taken place or do you predict even higher altitudes? Buy now or wait for a dip?
Cheers

Q: Good morning 5i
It is good to see the software companies at least remaining stable and some rising today. But, I have been wondering whether we have to rethink our devotion to CSU and other family members. With this recent fear you have said yourself that AI can actually help software companies and because of the important services they offer, they will not be going away soon.
But, you also said that although they are not going away today maybe some time in the future AI may succeed in replicating their services. So, the question is whether we should start thinking of CSU etc, as no longer the stalwarts that we have always believed them to be. We may begin to think that, although not today, but their days may be numbered and we need to get out before that happens. Wondering how you see this aspect?
Thanks for the great service

Q: Hi, Sorry there are lot of companies listed but in summary this is three part question:
1. I have BAM2%,BN9%,BEP5%. I was thinking of putting new money to KKR or BX or APO. Should i add new money to existing positions or to new positions. Which one and approx. price please.
2. All the listed are in red in various taxable and registered accounts. Which one is good candidate for new money , which one would be sell and hold.
3. ISRG is at 1.5%. Should i go to 5% in one shot or go slowly or just hold on . This is in taxable account.
Thanks

Q: Good Day,
I have just started adding in to my cash account, which now has me considering tax ramifications. Since I am not looking to pay MORE taxes, what are some names you would suggest for a longer term hold with no or really low dividends and a long runway for growth. I have listed PNG GRID GRGD VNP and CLS. Would you add a couple other names and rank them with a comment on their preospects.
Thanks!
James

Premium Income Corporation Preferred Shares (PIC.PR.A $16.50)
Q: Could I get your views on the preferred share part of a couple split share funds, in particular the two above, which recently had new issues. I am not interested in the equity side of the split shares, but the recent preferreds have caught my attention, admittedly from the relatively high yield and the underlying investment being in solid companies. How consistent/sustainable are these dividends and what are the downsides to these stocks?
Thank-you
Thank-you
