Q: For a portfolio overweight in Tech, which would you suggest trimming? The highest weights are VGT and NVDA, with less in GOOGL and MSFT, and a small portion in each of CSU and SHOP. Thanks for all you do!

Q: Can you help suggest a low MER, technology sector ETF available in either US or Canadian exchanges that includes GOOGLE as a holding. I found IETC that has a low MER but the classics like VGT, IYW and XLK do not include GOOGLE. Many thanks.

Q: Relate to my earlier question on BCE, to fund a single lot buy of GOOG after selling BCE, to fund the gap I need to trim or sell one or some of my existing USD holdings: BN, BAM, BEP, BIPC, BIP, SHOP, VGT, PLTR, ICLN, PRMB. I like them all. What order would YOU consider in selling/trimming? Most have some tax implications due to lengthy holding periods.

Q: I understand that VGT and XLK are extremely popular US technology ETF's.
I also understand that many popular US exchange ETF's are extremely tax efficient If I held these in my taxable account will there likely be capital gains/losses declared annually? If so, where can I find this historical information?
Would my broker provide this tax information annually to help me prepare my tax return?

Q: Donald Trump is causing so much uncertainty in both Canadian and US markets. Canada might even go into a recession.

I know that you mentioned that we should not react to the Trump threat.

However, if I had to sell all my stocks and ETFs ($400k) and start from scratch today, what would be the top 20 stocks/ETFs ( US and/or Canadian) that that you would invest in.

Would you just buy SPY/ZSP.to/ VGT/ SCHG ETFs in the USA market for safety?

Fyi, I don't like bonds.

Q: Hi.

Can you recommend fixed income ETFs, on US and/or international markets in the following areas:

- Technology
- Industrials
- Health care
- Consumer cyclical

In addition, I have a great amount of Magna International stocks (equivalent to 45% of my RRSP portfolio), that had a significant devaluation in the last 2 years. What is your recommendation? To hold, sell...?

Q: I will be providing some funds for my grandson to invest in the market. My grandson is 13 years old and has indicated that he has a moderate to aggressive investment risk level. He would like to invest funds and hold the investments for approximately 10 years. For a 10 year hold, would you recommend moderate to high risk companies/ETFs over low risk companies/ETFs? My grandson is considering investing in ETFs and/or individual companies. Please provide your top 5 moderate risk ETFs, top 5 high risk ETFs, top 5 moderate risk companies and top 5 high risk companies with a brief comment on each investment. Q: Hi Peter & 5i,
Q1 - CSU and VGT values have caused my TECH sector allocation to be overweight. Knowing you can't personalize weightings and keeping in mind the theory of letting your winners run. Would you see a trim of CSU and VGT and putting those proceeds into GSY as good switch for future growth? Or would I be just shuffling future growth from one sector to another?
Q2 - In showdown of TIH and EIF which one would you recommend for overall future returns? Do you have concerns about the debt levels of EIF versus the EBITDA? No such concerns with TIH.
