Q: Hi Team, we own all 3 though SU is the clear laggard; why is that ? In the next upswing for the group would you expect continued relative performance ? and would you swap out SU ? For who ? Thank you.

What looks “cheap” to you right now? I recognize that sometimes things are cheap for a reason. But in your view, what has been punished too much and likely to appreciate from here? 3m was one that I was considering as it is still down quite a bit and will recover in a better market (I assume—as everything seems to have its day). Q: Hi group can you help me understand how to get a dividend for my cash that I have presently (100 k ) its sitting in my RBC direct investing account / they do not give any interest for this money.
Can you walk me thru what to buy / I need its to be liquid (I want to use the cash if/when we go into a pullback/ downturn.

Q: In a recent reader's Q. about 13 companies ranked for long term growth ATS (a 5i "B" name) was ranked first and TIXT ("B+")last.

I am trying to understand if it was only the growth factor that compelled the ranking, or is there some other?

In a recent report you state TIXT " has a
12.6X forward P/E, which is significantly lower than its peers, at 24.9X on average." The report also states the stock trades at a significant discount to its many measures.

Kindly reconcile my confusion in your apparent rationale and also tell me which are the TIXT peers.

Q: Hi, a few years ago I got tired of trying to pick winners in the REIT space and invested in your model portfolio choice of ZRE. I'm wondering now if some of the equal weight holdings are starting to be a drag on performance, that may continue into the medium term? The same average yield could probably be obtained with a few individual securities like CAR and DIR with maybe a better outlook for capital appreciation in that same medium term (understanding that you would be moving up the risk scale again)? Do you think you would do better as a stock picker in this space today or stick with the ETF? If the former, do you have better suggestions today than the two named? Thanks.

Q: I've been reading about the different banks and their 30 year mortgages. In terms of risk can one assume that BNS and NA have a safer approach to mortgage lending the other Canadian banks.

Q: Hi

Sold both BCE and T prior to them dropping.

I am now under weight in communications by 3.79%.

Do I buy them back or would I be better off with VOX as my US holdings are doing better than my Canadian holdings over all.

Q: Good day,

Can I get your thoughts on these two companies? I hold them both, thinking in my food-lover, simplistic way that they are in a business that will always have demand. But as I read more about investing, other than brand-recognition, they really have no moat and I question whether they are good to hold long-term.

In general. I wonder if restaurants/fast food are an investable area? If so, how do these two rate? If keeping only one, which would you choose?

Q: Not a question but an answer from TD on info I was researching and I notice also A few people were asking about giving shares in lieu of cash to a charity so I thought I would forward the TD answer.

""You can make the donation from your margin account at no fee, all of have to do is obtain a donation form from the chosen charity which should have the receiving party's information pre filled and then you just have to fill in the margin account info for the delivering side.

Once filled out, you can scan in an email pdf format to me and I can submit to our back office who would process it in approx. 2-3 business days.""

Q: hi,
Is the "dividend" paid from ZRE actually treated as "interest" for tax purposes? and therefore, this would be best held in an RRSP? and more generally, in your opinion, which accounts are best for holding CDN vs US dividend stocks, CDN and US growth stocks (ie lots of capital gains ), and fixed income/interest?
