Q: Long term holding and price appreciation of AAPL and NVDA has led to a U.S. portion of a registered portfolio weighting of 28% and 17% respectively. I'd like to take some profits on these positions and trim these weightings to diversify. Please provide your top suggestions for replacements to consider in Health, Consumer, IT, Communication, and Financial sectors with a timeframe of 10years+

Q: I noticed where MEEC settled some of their litigation out of court, and still have one more to settle. At least this is information, that I have. My question is, I don't see any dollars and cents that they settled for, therefore are people buying this with the anticipation of a special dividend. Or will there be more income, because of this litigation.

Q: My TFSA has been pathetic due to a severely depressed share price of Lightspeed, down 60 %, and the remaining 4 stocks remaining flat over 5 years.

I'm considering selling them all and starting over. I have at least a 5 year time frame.

Which 4 or 5 Canadian or US stocks would you recommend to boost my returns?

Secondly, would you double up on Lightspeed, keep it, on or let it go?

It is 25 % of my TFSA.

Q: I am not concerned about the pullback in share prices today as I purchased this one just after the start of the pandemic. But........I invested in Shawcor with the thought that they did pipeline coatings and would be a valuable part of the continuing use of pipelines to transport oil and gas. They have decided to divest themselves of this volatile 25% of their business. Is their remaining 75% positioned to prosper into the future? Thank you Gordo

Q: I am thinking of buying a few short term, bonds 1 to 2 years maturity, that are presently discounted with a good credit rating
My thoughts are that with the capital appreciation of the bonds when they mature in 1 to 2 years plus the dividend I can achieve 10 to 12% return
What do you think of this ?
Can you make any suggestions as to three
possible bonds that will fulfil this criteria?
Thank you

Q: Organized meme stock shorting ala GameStop on Well Health? Do you still believe it is not coordinated manipulation? Are there no protections on the TSX to prevent attacks such as this? If a stock is shorted naked, does that prevent it from showing up on the short reports? Do you have insight on how these groups are able to pull this off or at least why this stock is their go-to? Thanks!

Q: Hi friends,
I see that you have been recommending total market ETFs of Vanguard US and Vanguard Canada etc., in response to questions of different members.
When I look at the Management fees, Vanguard Canada fees are much higher than that charged by Vanguard US, for similar ETFs..
If one has US$ funds, is there any restriction or problem in going for Vanguard US ETFs, instead of Canadian and save some fees?
What are the pros and cons of buying Vanguard Canada ETFs vs US ETFs?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts / views.

Q: Hello Peter and Staff

Read an article expounding the virtues of Cogeco and its holdco . Article cited low P/E and payout ratios as well as equivalent dividend rates based on current price with expected re rating to get discounts lower than present versus BCE and T. What do you think of this and as well the option of CCO versus CCA
Thanks for all you do
