Q: I own CNQ (largest position), OXY, and CHORD in my trading accounts. I am down quite a bit in CHORD since the Enerplus merger.

I don't really have that much exposure to natural gas stocks at the moment. Would it make sense to sell CHORD, claim a capital loss, and buy something like PEY, TOU, or BIR?

Although Mark Carney has eliminated the *consumer* carbon tax (which leaves industry still paying it I suspect, and the costs will still get passed through to consumers), given his track record and recent comments about commitment to net-zero and "heavy emitters will have to pay", it sounds to me like there will be significant headwinds for Canadian Energy companies if the Liberals are elected. I am considering lightening up on my Canadian energy holdings, given the probability of 4 years of energy-hostile policies. What are your thoughts on this move, for or against?

I'm thinking of selling my BCE shares in my non-registered account for tax loss purposes since I'm also expecting a dividend cut shortly. I'm looking to replace the dividend income as much as possible and I'm thinking of putting the proceeds in Telus (which I already own) or FRU.UN (not owned but I already own TOU). I'm debating whether a possible capital appreciation with BCE following a dividend cut makes it worth rebuying after 30 days instead of continuing to hold T or FRU.UN for the long term? Overall, my goal is to maintain my dividend income with this particular trade.

I'm also thinking about replacing FSV with HPS.A (I had HPS.A FOMO a few months ago but I'm not sure it's going back to its previous days?) in my TFSA for overall returns and I'm wondering if you have a preference between the two?

Q: I am an 80 year old income investor with some growth. I have $20,000 to employ. The above is a list of my losers out of 50 winners in a portfolio of mostly the Income Portfolio plus 15 yield maximizer ETF's like UMAX. Should I:
1. wait for your monthly advice before acting
2. distribute evenly accross the losers
3. add to the winners
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Q: Hi group the above stocks i sold 1/2 of my folio about 3 months ago/ yes at a tidy profit. My question is I am 75 years old and have $100,000 to reinvest (20% of my total portfolio)...(dry power) i do not need any cash to supplement my income for at least 5 years unless the market falls of a cliff because of Trump/Tariffs. I would say I am a sleep at night investor So the question is what to do now wait or start nibbling now. These stocks make up about 70% of the total portfolio

Q: Is there any reason that would drive TOU to increase the regular dividend but lower the special dividend? Over all, the impact is the same but there must be a driving reason behind this decision?

At what price do you think TOU gets attractive to add to a position?

Q: Just wanted to mention to you that in your answer to Donald today regarding TOU, you indicated they declared a special dividend of 50 cents, but the actual special distribution declared was 35 cents. The regular distribution was increased to 50 cents.

They basically flip-flopped the 2 dividends. Previous quarter, the special was 50 cents, and the regular was 35 cents.

1) What portion of NG is sold to USA versus LNG Canada (soon) and domestic consumption? 2) Canadian oil sands withstood negative oil prices for months - but it still flowed (and hence required condensate) - to what extent do you think Condensate (ARX/TOU) will be affected if there is reduced oil flow from Canadian oil sands. Thank you.

Q: TOU has been range been bound between $60 and $70 for the past 2 years. Natural gas has hovered between $1.60 and $3 over that same timeframe. In the past 6 months, gas has more than doubled to $4.10 today and yet TOU has only grown 8.5% in that same time frame. What is holding back the price of TOU ?

Q: Hi group can you please comment on Capitol direct trust - last quarter they paid out 9% + over last 3 yrs they have averaged 7+ %. What is your assessment of the risk rewards in this sector i suspect that restrictions on liquidly and management fees are concerns but the attractive quarterly payout are very attractive in this unstable market overall your thoughts please. Q: Hi 5 i Team - Although I still like Tourmaline I am considering trimming my position and using the proceeds to buy something else in the oil and gas sector but with more growth potential. First of all am I right in considering Tourmaline an income type of stock with little growth potential. Secondly could you provide a few O&G suggestions for growth, preferably mid cap and small cap but also large cap if you think it would fit into this theme. Thanks.

Q: What Canadian energy companies have the largest amount of condensates?

Q: I own TOU and TPZ and like them both for long term holds. TOU was recently added to the 5i income portfolio. Why go with TOU as apposed to TPZ, which is more of an income structured investment. Do you feel that TOU will offer a better total long term return both with respect to their dividend and capital appreciation?
