Q: This is my dilemma I already hold 32 stocks. I own the above stocks with full positions in SBUX and MG and 1/2 position in AMZN to make up the consumer discretionary portion of my portfolio for a goal of 10%. This currently makes up 8% of this sector. My question is do I add to AMZN for a full position or add another stock? I own most of the stocks in the balanced portfolio and if I would follow that TOY would be your choice if I add another stock(I think) or would you add something else to the mix if adding another stock makes sense. My $US/$CAD mix is pretty much in line with what I want so I could go either way on that option. Thanks for the opinion in advance.

Q: Hi 5i,
Any thoughts on how the revisions to the North America Free Trade Agreement may affect Magna International?

Q: Good morning...I have a balanced portfolio and have additional cash to deploy...I basically own more or less 5i covered stocks...currently out of ENB, ATD.B, New Flyer, SHOP, CSU..would you add to? Also OTEX which I am holding but currently down (18%) would you add at this point..
Another question...if you had additional funds what would you be adding to on your covered stocks...no worry of allocation...top 10 in order..
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i,
As of today, which stocks would you purchase with a full position in an RRSP to hold for 3-5 years?
Which stocks would you consider value stocks to purchase today for 1/2 to a full position in an RRSP?
Thank you for your excellent service and advice.
Cheers,
Jerry & Debbie

Q: Good morning. I currently own CGX, MG and BYD.un in the consumer cyclicals (in total represent about 9% of portfolio). I'm considering selling CGX but don't want to add any more to the other 2. Is there another dividend paying company in this sector you would prefer over CGX. Thanks
Q: Good Afternoon: Magna results looked quite strong on the surface, especially with a forecast revised upward for the future. And yet it is trading down nearly $2. Your comments on their earnings, forecast, price drop today and overall opinion on this company please. Thanks.

Q: In a market like this some stocks are unfairly punished and could be an opportunity please give an opinion which is a good deal.
Q: I own XTC, which is currently down 15% in my portfolio. I'm considering locking in a capital loss for tax purposes, then purchasing MG, which has shown a much better trend and better earnings results. Do you think locking in a loss in XTC (possibly to re-purchase after 30 days), and purchasing MG would be a reasonable move at this time?
Q: Please comment on the XTC results. Would you still hold it? I also have MG and LNR. equal weight, all represent 9% of my portfolio. Making money on all. Should I make any changes here? Looking for growth.
Thank You for excellent service.

Q: I noticed that Magna is losing ground today. Is there any reason for this? I wanted to buy some magna, but would it be wise to buy it at this time or wait for Nafta negotiations?
Thank you
Thank you

Q: Hello, I have just read "Why It’s Almost Impossible to be a Passive Investor in Canada" by Ryan, very informative article. I realize that my portfolio is underweight in the industrials sector. Could you suggest 3 or 4 names in Canada and in the US respectively? I am looking for good mid or big cap companies with growing dividend if possible. This is for long term investment. Regards, Gervais

Q: Hello to all of you at 5i,
I'm debating whether to buy shares of Borg Warner so as to diversify outside of North America or make a move on Magna for almost the same reason given it does a lot of business in Europe. Which one do you see as having the better prospects? Thanks in advance.
Robert

Q: What would be your top 3 value Canadian value stocks? Minimum market cap of $500M. Thanks.
Q: Hi 5i: I bought MG and MRE about 6 months ago. MG is now down a little and MRE is up over 30%. I know that both have interests in Europe, and that MRE went through a rough patch with management issues, as well as some plant problems, both now behind them. Does this explain the recent difference, or is there some other explanation? The news on the auto parts sector is not particularly rosy, and I've been thinking about a switch to some other sector. What do you think? Sell both, sell one (which one?) or just hold tight? I'd appreciate your advice.

GIL, MG, BYD.UN, TOY, AYA, CCL & NFI and on the U.S.A. side we have GPC, DIS & HD.
I would like to lower the % to 15%.
