Q: MTY or QSR: which best buy? I am thinking mild recession - maybe better price of entry later? I do not own any stocks in this group. Not sure I need to own? Not big dividend growers which is my mantra. Too many good blue chips avai8lable that are good dividend growers.

Q: Through a portfolio manager, I hold DYN253C in a non registered account. It's now 7% of my portfolio and is down 40%. Is it worth holding on to? (long term investor)
In the same account, I'm down by 80% on Terego. Is it a sell? The portfolio is otherwise diversified.

Could you explain the options for a current Essential Energy Services shareholder with the agreement that was made by Essential to be acquired by Element Technical Services, if the amalgamation is approved and also if it is not approved.

Q: I’m responding to a question about Quantum AI. Please stay away, as I think it is a fraud. I got sucked in by an ad between Stephen Harper and CTV news where Harper allegedly recommended Quantum AI’s bot investment platform. I filled out the request for information from Quantum AI. But before I could do my due diligence, they called me and convinced me to give my credit card information for the minimum deposit (250USD).. Once I hung up the phone and had some time to do my due diligence and tried to see the original Harper/ CTV news interview. The interview was nowhere to be found and the ad had disappeared. I looked on their website and saw positive comments from Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates. They were all fake endorsements. That’s when I realized that I had been had. They gave me an email the next day asking for more financial information from me to set up the trading platform. I refused and said I wanted my deposit put back on my Credit Card. Of course they refused. I had a long email chain with them, but they just had a hard sell and got angrier when I wanted out. Since they refused to allow me to back out, I reported them to the police and Canada’s fraud website. There were other red flags such as making exorbitant claims about the money one would make. There was very limited contact info, such as a physical address, phone numbers and email addresses. Also there were their hard sells. So my strong recommendation is to stay far away and not be sucked in. Hope that helps 5i readers not to make the mistake that I made.

Q: ATS is something that 5i likes. On April 6 of this year it was 52.40 and now today Oct. 17, it is $52.50. You know a lot about this company. I own it because I am a long time member of 5i - do you see things in their profile that I would not have access to? You like QSR and it was a recent pick on BNN. I own it at higher prices. From what I have heard, I am thinking of adding more. Your opinion would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Q: I have some US$ and want to buy BEPC:US. I held BEP:US and a few years ago and faced higher taxes on dividends and maybe capital gains from the US with a partnership - can you confirm this will not be the case with BEPC:US? I also just bought BCE:US - can you please confirm that I will still get the Canadian dividend tax credit for with BCE:US and BEPC:US.
