Q: GLD is up 0.5% in the last week but FNV is down nearly 10% during this time (and down on the month). Is there a logical explanation for this? Isn't their stock price mainly guided by the price of gold?
Q: We have been looking at these four companies but only have resources to take positions in two of them. Which two would you consider the best choices for returns over the next couple of years?

Q: Ignoring considerations such as sector weights, is now a good time to start a position in NVDA, say as ~2% of a portfolio? Also, how do you see risk affected for NVDA in the current market?
Thanks.
Q: Portfolio Analytics indicates I am over allocated and perhaps over diversified in Financials: BAM.A 2%, BNS 2%, TD 4%, X 2%, BRK.B 4%, MA 6% and Industrials: CCL.B 1%, CNR 4%, NFI 1%, FDX 3%, HON 3%, LMT 6%.
Which positions would you recommend trimming or eliminating?
Q: In your reply to Richard this morning you stated: "We might sub IIP for CAR to add more residential over retail exposure". Aren't both of these REITs "residential"?
Q: I'm looking to add some REITs to my portfolio. Could you comment on the following REITs? Would you suggest holding all 4 as they have different holdings? If not, could you provide a ranking of your selections?
Q: Hello 5i, Currently managing a cash/dividend investment account for 90 year old mother. Dividends and capital gains from this account are used to supplement OAS, CPP and RIF income. Also trying to manage overall personal income for her so as not to exceed OAS clawback net income of $79,054 for 2020. Question - can I use a net capital loss in the year against taxable capital gains to ensure I stay below the 2020 clawback amount ? Many thanks, Steve
Q: Is the delisting of Chinese companies on US stock exchanges a real possibility or more noise. How might Alibaba be impacted. Should investors sell and watch or ride it out. The senate bill would require that foreign companies let the Public Companies Accounting Oversight Board oversee the auditing of their financial records. Does Alibaba currently use American accounting methods - GAAP?
Q: Hi Gentleman,
I'm looking to simplify my portfolio on both the Canadian and US side.
Looking for your suggestions on your top 1-4 ETF's that trade on the TSX that would provide diversification by sector and globally as well as a dividend that would be safe? The same question for your top 1-4 ETF's on the US side. Long term holds 10-15 years. portfolio size is $500,000.
Thanks,
SF
