Q: Question for 5i team (or any other RESP knowledgeable subscriber). Over the past 8 years my adult son has contributed a total of $20000 to my grandson's RESP. With interest earned plus CESG grants, the total value is now $25000. PLAN: I want to top off my grandson's RESP to the $50000 maximum allowed. QUESTION: Is my contribution $30000 -- or limited to $25000 in (consideration of the CESG and interest accruing to the account). Thanks.

Q: Immutable Holdings trade on the NEO exchange but there’s not much info. Would you please give your opinion on this concept company which looks like it might have something about investing early in the Metaverse. Could this be something big?
Q: NOC reported its 3rd qtr last week. It showed less revenue than a year ago but higher earnings and higher EPS. Yet the share price has tumbled. Is this a good entry point or is there something more worrisome going on ?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Q: I've got hit pretty hard on this stock. Should I sell and move on or do you expect better things down the road for this company?
Q: Analysts are estimating ATD.B's 2022 YE results for earnings growth to be flat, 2023 EPS to grow 5%, then EPS to grow at 8.5% for the next 5 subsequent years. I use a Stock Selection Guide to estimate the annual return for the next 5 years assuming these growth rates and it comes in at about 8% including the dividend. Doesn't seem like a high enough return to warrant purchase at the current price. What are your thoughts on this?
I assume analysts get their estimates from the forecasts of ATD.B, yet I was unable to locate any company forecasts/outlook in press releases or annual reports.
Have you come across any company forecasts in your research?
Thank you.

Q: Is there a summary of Canadian Closed end funds that is available to view? Years ago, Financial Post carried a daily summary of this sector, but I cannot find that anymore.
Q: Following up on a question from Jerry the other day, with 75% of their production hedged, would the Athabasca share price become more predictable and less influenced by the prevailing price of oil? And if so, can you suggest what price of the shares might come to? Thank you for your excellent service.
Q: Do you find their disclosure in their latest earnings report of the issues surrounding the Coastal GasLink Pipeline project as concerning as apparently the market seems to?

Q: After looking at page 27 of the Q2 2021 Supplemental, would you use the Basic income (loss) per LP unit , in comparison to Normalized Funds From Operation per Unit, to determine the value it trades at, similar to how REITS are valued.?
I noticed a Loss of .13cents per unit, and normalized FFO of 0.53 cents per unit.
Thanks

Q: greetings - as i move into retirement i have been taking a hard look at some of my portfolio. I inherited this stock many years ago and really haven't look at it too hard because of the nice US dividend. I need both us and cdn income in retirement. Given the high dividend how much risk is there. What are the downsides of continuing to own?
Thanks
Thanks

Q: Please name half dozen of your top choices for an income portfolio.
Q: I am looking for a copper play. What happened to NCU? Is the drop in SP due more to issues with the company or the drop in commodity price? Would this be a worthwhile company to add although maybe riskier?

Q: Hi 5i,
I'm not sure this is an appropriate question to ask but, here goes.
I was considering purchasing AMT for my TFSA and NonReg accounts.
Can you help explain the taxation issues I need to be aware of for each account. (capital gains and losses, distributions, dividends etc.
I understand that the taxation issues for a US REIT may be different from a US stock.
Thanks

Q: I have a 2/3 position in MDT whose share price has fallen much more than I expected due to a product recall. Was the said recall bad enough to warrant such a drop? I am tempted to top up my position. I hesitate, thinking there must be some bad news out there that I am unaware of. Is there?
MDT seems to have high trailing P/E probably due to elective surgery being postponed. Do you have the following: PEG; fwd P/E; ROE; ROCI ?
I also wonder if my views towards MDT are biased because I see it on the AAII dividend model portfolio; on a BAC top picks (issued a couple of weeks ago); and because it seems to have been a reasonably good dividend grower.

Q: Any beaten down stocks that are in that state due to tax-loss selling that you'd be interested in at this time?
