Q: I have these stocks in a tfsa. Any you feel could be eliminated and can you recommend an addition or 2? Thank you.

Q: Some great price movement and volume lately. Any insight?

Revenue has been flat since 2016 and the info I have access to shows very little growth in 2021 - i.e. not much to get excited about. Are recent buyers income seekers, is the stock benefiting from sector/risk rotation?

Q: Just beginning to learn about Sylogist, and have a quick question. Why does it, a smallish tech company, with presumably an intention to grow, pay such a large dividend? None of the big Canadian tech names pay anything close to that (if at all). Thanks.

Q: I hold the above companies in my TFSA and they represent my Tech holdings. I am getting a little overweight in my tech sector and am wondering if any of my holdings are in essence duplications. If so could you recommend which ones to sell.
I have a list of buys, including CAE, TFII, XBC, GOOS, and would redeploy the capital plus some of my cash to these positions. Of my potential buys in what order would you see as the best opportunities.

Q: I recall 5i stating in 2020 that DSG, KXS and PHO, all have no debt and significant cash reserves. Can you recommend 3 other good Canadian and 3 American growth stocks in a similar position.

Q: Two companies for which you appear to have a favourable view seem to be seriously struggling as far as their stock price goes. There seems to be little interest from investors as is evident from the low trading volume. Would you recommend continued patience and holding on or should I let them go and move the money to more productive areas. No chance for tax losses as they are in a LIRA. Thanks as always.

Q: Hi 5i Team,
I was able to build up a half a position of WELL before it took off on me and have roughly a 150% profit on the position. I can't help but think the stock is a bit overvalued at this point and I have been pondering what, if anything, would be the best move long term in a TFSA account?
I was thinking of trimming the WELL position to bring it back to what I consider a normal full position and put the proceeds into either TCS and bring it to a full position or add to a SYZ position bringing it to .5 weighting?
Another possibility is just to let WELL run until I rebalance due to its weighting in my total portfolio which is my usual system of rebalancing.

Q: I finally got around to using Portfolio Analytics on myself. Biggest perk was the totalling of my expected yearly dividends. Mystery solved!
Unsurprising was the overweight tech at 45%.
When one looks at the difference between REAL and SYZ (as examples of software tech) I have to wonder just how useful that advisement is as a total? It seems in software you could have proxies (almost) for the entire market!

Could these two companies be in play to he bought out or are they mainly interested in growing their companies? Which company could be interested in buying them?

Q: My questions pertain to SYZ. I am a long time investor in this company and generally really appreciate the shareholder friendly actions the company takes (dividend increases and buybacks).

I also am thrilled at their new approach to the market (investor presentation on their website now, willing to leverage and add growth...). All of these things add up to an accelerated compounder for the future.

The one lingering question I have is what if this new approach is not adopted by the eventual new CEO and yet a new strategy gets employed? What would be your odds on this scenario?
Also, have you spoken recently with management? Is the company open to an outright sale as part of the CEO search?

If this strategy does indeed have legs and they buy their way to rapid growth, do you foresee, given their cash generation a mini Enghouse or Constellation in the making?

Q: In Sylogist’s recent AGM PR there is a statement that reads: "Resolutions to approve the Company's stock option plan and its proposed amended by-law, did not pass." What was the proposed stock option plan and its proposed amended by-law? I am a bit worried after the massive payout to insiders awhile back. Thanks
