Q: I am looking to buy a renewable with a decent dividend for a non-registered account. Please let me know you rationale. Of these 3 , which one would you recommend? I understand that this sector has come down recently. Which one has the best upside in terms of valuation? If there are others that you would recommend please let me know.
Thanks

Q: In a TFSA, which of these two would you buy today? I know you have answered this question in the past - and that you’ve said to focus on yield, but doesn’t BEPC deserve some type of premium even in a registered account?

Q: I like the website changes, well done.
I'm starting to think about tax loss harvesting. I have losses of 15% & 20% respectively in AQN & BEP.UN (only held since early 2021).
Would you consider this short holding period too short for meaningful tax loss harvesting (i.e. being too focused on short-term movements)?
I intend to add these two (or similar) back after the 30-day period, they are part of my longer-term plan.
Can you suggest one or two replacements for the interim (or longer?). Portfolio is appropriately diversified and already includes FTS. H? EMA? BLX?
Thanks.

Q: Are there any catalyst, or catalysts, in insight to lift the renewable energy stocks out of their 2021 humdrum? Names in this sector are all down YTD from BEPC's highest of 33% to RWN's lowest of 7% - with no exception. Would you recommend a name in this group that would have the likeliest chance for a quick rebound / turnaround? Thanks.

Q: I know you typically don't like averaging down. I'm underwater on the following names. Would you be comfortable adding to them and if so which order would you prioritize new money be allocated. 10+ year timeframe.

BEP.UN (down 22%)
KXS (down 21%)
TTD (down 36%)
U (down 41%)
XBC (down 54)

I assume you would advise a few more quarters with XBC before adding?

Thank you,

Stefan

Q: Have had BEP.UN for a couple of years and did sell off some for a profit however I am now down 23% on 400 shares and wondering your thoughts on if I should close my eyes and sell or hang onto it. I am 71 and like growth stocks as I seem to make more money that way but without ridiculous risk. Can you suggest anything if I do sell.

Q: a) Could you please clarify the advantage of owning bep.un vs bepc.
b) Would you recommend adding either to my current holding of aqn/npi/blx?
c) Please list in order of preference
d) Do you think all four would give greater diversity, or would you prefer owning only 2 or 3 of theses companies and if so which ones!

Q: Dear 5i,
I originally bought this for around $49; then the company adjusted when the split for BEPC occurred. Some time later, I thought it ok to sell them at around $70. How do I figure out if a re-entry point for BEP.UN is good today at around $45, given that if I look at my brokerage graph the historical value of what I paid at $49 then, appears as around $25 now ie the graph has changed because of the split?
If it is tough to calculate/compare history, could you advise if today is a good price - thinking this time I should hold them a longer 7+ years.
Thank you for helping me,
Hilary

Q: Could you please recommend your preference b/w these two? (Buy and hold for 5-10 year timeframe).
Also, if I wanted to increase my USD exposure, could I not purchase either one of these inside a US TFSA without paying any withholding tax on the dividend? Both pay a USD dividend I believe.
Thanks,

Q: Hello 5i team,
You mentioned in a previous response that you would not expect BEP to have the same high returns as in previous years. Can you briefly elaborate more on this?

Since BEP is in a dip, I wanted to purchase the US equivalent shares. Are you still comfortable with this company (you give it an A rating)?

Thank You,
Andrew
