Q: NO PROFIT... NO PROBLEM...

This is a story in the Globe and Mail dated Sept 25th 2021. The article made all lot of sense and there seems to be a disconnect with growth at all cost with no profit. Maybe this is how things are done just look at how our government is run.

I don't have a specific question to any of the companies mentioned above but with LSPD in the news lately maybe it will apply. I know there has been a short report put out on LSPD and from some of the comments that I am reading from 5i that they are false.

My question is how do you know?

We don't know the real workings of a company and what we get from them is what they want us to hear. Take for example XBC, that wiped out all of value from investors because we didn't get the correct information from Management. It's what they wanted us to hear and we believed them.

I think there should be some healthy skepticism with regards to what Management says and does and investors should take away that capital preservation is paramount.

If LSPD or any company that gets shorted and can't explain the reasons for the discrepancy in a respectfully dialogue then maybe there is some truth to it but like I said we don't really know.

Who is right? The short trader or the Stock promotor?

Until we get all the information it will always be Buyer Beware and don't fall in love with any stock.

Sincerely.

Q: Hi Peter,

Does a portfolio, that is made up of the stocks listed above, agreeable to you if one has a longer term time frame, say 5 years plus and has a high tolerance for risk?

Thanks,

Q: Just sold DND today and looking to increase tech exposure as I'm now underweight techs and industrials. Currently own LSPD and ENGH. Please suggest 2 for each industry. No US exposure. Would you buy XQQ at this point?

Thank you

Q: Above our securities of about 45 I hold that for quite some time are terrible to look at. Which ones should I sell and replace with your picks that are doing quite well and would you sell them at the price they are now or would you pick a higher price and put them in for a few days? Thanks again

Q: 1) Since management is trying to buy the company from other shareholders, is it in their best interest to keep the share price from rising? eg. slow down new deals, slow down news flow, slow down promotion, slow down analyst meetings.... Seems like there is a huge conflict of interest at this point between management and other shareholders who want to own this company long term.

2) Their stated rationale for a buyout seems flawed. The CEO says the public markets are not rewarding them with a good valuation for which to use shares for acquisitions. But don't public companies trade higher valuations then private companies?

Thanks.

Q: The landscape of tech stocks in Canada seems to be rapidly evolving, with several impressive IPO's of late, and some very strong growth stories emerging. In a well diversified portfolio, how would you rate the desirability of holding each of the following tech stocks on a scale of one to ten, with 10 being a must own, 1 being a definite "no", and 5 being something OK, but nothing special. 5+ year holding period.

CSU, CTS, DND, DSG, ENGH, KXS, LSPD, MAGT, NVEI, OTEX, TIXT, TOI

Q: On 7/30 in your response on a question regarding DND you said "DND, even in a privatization, might only have another 10% potential." Can you please elaborate on that?

I have BEPC and DND in my RRIF and I need to sell one of the two to raise the cash to meet the regular monthly payout requirement next month. If DND's upside is that limited BEPC would be the one to keep since it pays a better dividend and the prospect of renewable energy stocks should rebound much more. Your insight is much appreciated. Thanks.
