Q: Do you have a few suggestions for long term holds in US industrials? My only non-Canadian holding in this sector is TT - would you consider this to be still worthy of holding?

Q: Further to Blake’s question today regarding other banks out performing Bns, I has charted Bns vs the other big banks and Bns underperforms over 1, 3, 5, and 10 years. I’ve held Bns for 6 yrs waiting the reversion to mean to happen and Bns to outperform. When is it time to accept that their Latin America and Asia higher growth profile will always be dragged down by economic or political turmoil in one of their markets? I moved on last month.

Q: Do you have any insights on financial planning/stock tracking software that can track various accounts and stock performance across institutions? ...and with the input of financial variables (inflation, spend etc) provide updated information on meeting long term targets. I struggle with financial providers (hide fees, limit what you can see etc) and cannot get a comprehensive picture of my financials.

Q: In your response to Guy R. (Oct 22) about Tax Selling, you indicated the likelihood of a considerable sell-off still to come for this year's 'worst performing' stocks. Yikes !! Taxable account or not, wouldn't it be advantageous to sell the “worst” now, then repurchase in early December those stocks that you wish to own for the future? Otherwise, by holding, you are faced not only with recouping the loss already established, but on top of that, the additional loss anticipated in the coming 5 weeks.
My “worst performing” list includes: Canadian stocks: ANRG, AT, CAE, EGLX, LSPD, MG, PRN, SHOP, WELL. US stocks: APPS, U.
1) Are there any of these that you would suggest NOT selling ?
2) Of those to be sold, are there any that you would suggest NOT repurchasing in December ?
3) You mentioned some investors will want to buy “less worse” performing stocks so as not to miss out on a possible short term rally. Do you support this approach in the current situation, rather than just holding the cash proceeds temporarily ? If so, are there a handful of “less worse” performing stocks, that you would suggest and, would they be temporary or more long term replacements ?

Q: Hello, my question is about the BAM.A spinoff, I find it confusing. I currently hold 100 shares of BAM.A, so according to what I have read should I understand that few days after the spinoff my account will show 100 shares of "BAM" to replace the current BAM.A symbol and 25 shares of the new company under the "BN" symbol? Q: In your reponse to Cecil today you state: "VOO will be more tax efficient as it is US-listed whereas VFV is Canadian-listed. Foreign withholding tax on dividends will be exempt." I was under the understanding that there is no foreign withholding tax on dividends in an RRSP.
