Q: Is it true that all semis essentially come from Taiwan (almost as dumb as nearly all North American oil refinery is done in Texas))?

If so, what will happen to SMH ETF after China takes over Taiwan?

Q: It seems like everyone is positive on TD's future prospects. Yet no one mentions the potential monetary fines that could be levied against TD associated with money laundering. Why is that? Everyone appears to be very complacent about the probe over anti-money laundering. If the fines were substantial, could TD shares not take a hit? Your comments would be appreciated.

Q: Nice acquisition today by TFII and a good move in the stock. TFII seems to have perfected the art of the acquisition and integrating into operations. I believe TFII is the largest trucking company in Canada. How do they rate compared to US firms? Is there a possibility that TFII might be in the sights of a big US firm? Could they be on the receiving end of takeover bid?

Q: Today is the last day for tax loss selling they say. Is this only for stocks or also for options' positions? Should one sell one's positions even if the option expiry date is in Jan to take a loss and re-enter in Jan 24? New to the options writing. Sorry for posting this question during this holiday season. Answer it if you deem this as urgent.
