Q: Would you consider buying one or both of the above for capital gains over the next 6 mths. Any other suggestions for same objective. This would be in a TFSA.
Q: I am light in consumer cyclicals and am following the balanced equity portfolio. I own a full position of MRE ( so haven't bought any MG). I have a slight aversion to buying companies that dont pay any dividends so am hesitant to jump on TOY or GC. Any good buying opportunities in the consumer cyclical space ( 5 year hold) as alternatives to TOY and GC?
Q: Given the highly cyclical nature of these two stocks, is it time to move on. With car sales slowing in canada and the us, how long does it take to start impacting these two?
My portfolio is a bit light (5.8%) on Industrials than I would like (10%). I currently hold CAE (1.25%), XYL (2.5%) and SIS (2%). For a relatively conservative investor, what would be your top 3 recommendations?
Q: Hi Team, I am thinking about switching MAXR for MG. This would mean selling MAXR at a loss. Which do you think has more upside potential over the next1-2 years?
Thx
Q: In tracking these four auto parts companies, all seem to have been doing very well in this volatile market. Even ACQ enjoyed a ~5% bump today! Wondering if the reason is somehow related to Trump's tariff controversy. Thanks.
Q: Added positions in SIS and SJ today on the dip. Any other really good buying opportunities off the list in the portfolio (dont need energy or financials) with the current volatility. SIS and SJ where on my add next list and hadn't really made a plane beyond those...
Q: I would like to mix in a number of Canadian large caps into my TFSA that have moderate pe's , lower beta and on the growthy side. Would please give me 6-8 names to pick from. Thank you.
Q: Does Magna do a lot of business in China? If not can you explain why the stock is being pounded today? I know it was downgraded, but would that really take the stock down almost 5% given how undervalued it already is?
I have the model balanced portfolio other than KL for AEM, a tiny position in MG, and am still missing Teck.B. My thoughts for new money is to either get MG up to a proper position size (approx 4%) or to buy Teck.b for a 3% position.
What are the pros and cons of each. Thanks for all your hard work.
