Q: Are the increasing delinquencies and fraud risks with auto lenders priced into GSY's pullback recently. With Tricolor, Firstbrands and Primalend now having major issues in the auto lending space, and a short report released not long ago which pointed out concerns with their auto lending risk. Its hard to tell if the pullback is mostly broader economy concerns and the auto risk may be another factor that will pull it down as delinquencies are increasing in North America, and if so we likely see more downside. Also does Propel do any auto loans, and if not does it seem like the better buy since its being dragged down with all the lenders? Thx

Q: Good Day,

With the end of the year approaching and the US poking the tarriff bear again (pun... intended?), do you see more selling/profit taking coming in the end of the year?

It seems many names have either been hit by these latest developments, have unsubstantiated short report attacks, or have no news declines. What are some of your favourite names right now that have solid outlooks/execution and some real potential for strong recovery? Say 10 names, mix of Canada and US with attractive entry prices?

Secondly, what would be your main buy targets likely to see tax loss selling? What would be an attractive entry price for them?

No need for megacap names, I'm well represented there.

Thanks!

James

Q: I have a smallish position in GSY which I should probably either Add to or Sell after one or more quarters. The recent Reports on GSY and PRL got me looking at longer term performance of both companies. The Report states that GSY has grown EPS at > 28% per year for a decade. However, most of that earnings growth occurred 5+ years ago. Annual EPS since 2021 is only up approx 15% - not per year but in total over 4 years. Over the same period revenue has doubled. Can you comment on why EPS growth has lagged revenue growth over the mid-term, and if/when those issues might be behind them?

GSY being much larger than PRL may be a factor. GSY has issued new equity over the period but the amount does not seem to be significant. PRL over the same 4yr period has tripled revenue, with EPS up almost 7x.

Q: Like Herm asked yesterday. It seems PRL and GSY are moving in tandem towards year lows. At some point and tax loss cannot be utilized in TFSA would you consider a swap or better to hold? Can you suggest at what price this would make sense or do you think PRL will eventually have more growth potential? Thanks Larry

Q: Roughly a month ago, I finished building a small, but "full" position. (2% vs a blue chip 4-5%).

I know you are not a fan of averaging down, but with the "GSY-short report sympathy decline", would you make an exception here and add more to PRL?

If so...and trying to avoid "catching a falling knife", at what price would you add at? When I look at the technicals, to my amateur eyes it looks like $23-24 has some support. Be more patient and wait for that price to come?

Your thoughts?.....Steve

Q: I'm currently down 35% on my BCE shares and am considering selling them to buy Propel Holdings stock for the long term. Do you think that would be a smart move? If you have better alternatives for my BCE position, I'm open to your advice in either the Canadian or U.S. markets

Q: Each of these have fallen below 1% percent of total portfolio value in my non-reg account. What order of preference would you suggest for adding to top up? Altrnatively should any go or should there be a new addition? I am low in consumer cycles, comms and health.

Q: Hi 5i: I have a full position in BN. Thinking of selling partial positions in BAM or BIP and/or PRL. In addition to add to the torque of RIFs considering adding partial positions in ZDC, VHI and ELVA. Please rank the order of the sells and the order of buys. Your opinion on this strategy is much valued. Thanks

Q: Hey 5I

Seeing how PRL is in a bit of a spiral for all the reasons you've recently mentioned, I am contemplating selling PRL and buying EQB with a plan to but back into PRL when it turns around. What do you think?

Q: Are you comfortable buying PNG at current price? If not, what would be your target to buy? Looking to start a position.

There has been a couple questions lately regarding GSY and PRL. In one question, you answer PRL over GSY. And then the next day, you indicate GSY over PRL. Which do you consider a better buy for growth, and why? I think also you mentioned there was going to be a follow up report on PRL. Is that still the case?

Thanks!
