Q: Can you comment on CELH earnings? Seems like strong growth, and a write down that Pepsi will be paying back. Not sure why the share price has dropped 26%? Am I missing something? Would you see this as an add, or this market is too volatile to be adding to such a volatile over priced stock? Thx
Q: So I ran with wsp, tri, and gsy in an sdrsp for the equity porrtion. Down on all. Looking forward do you think continuing to hold these three in an sdrsp is a good move? Or do you think changing one or all for better blue chip companies is warranted? If so what do you suggest?
Q: Hi
It does not appear that their earnings were bad, yet the drop seems harder than I would expect with a consolidation - but I'm probably just overly nervous whenever I see a 4% slide on a company I believe is usually a very stable holding. Is it possible shareholders are dumping over concerns that the US government shutdown will hold things up for WSP?
Back on Sep 1st, Alexandre L'Heureux was recorded as follows on Bloomberg:
"Alexandre L’Heureux says that so far the halting of government services and permitting has had a “minimal impact” on the Montreal-based company, which has a big presence south of the border.
But he says the entire engineering and construction industry will suffer if legislators fail to reach a deal and resume federal operations soon."
However this statement is a long time ago, so I am not sure it is having any affect today.
Q: Hi Team,
This week so far has been the worst ever for my portflio. Down 12% just this week. . The names I had conviction in are getting demolished this earnings season (Lmn , gsy, Prl , PNG , Rddt , Meta , nbis , nvda ) to name a few that are dropping big today . The market has felt jittery to me for a while now like a house of cards. Where do you see things heading from here ? Is it time to move to the sidelines ? Or hold out for more pain? On the other side of things are there any specific buying opportunities or stocks you are watching to buy or add to during the recent declines?
Q: Hello team, I realize you have answered questions about the GSY results, but do you consider the level of the stock fall (now close to $25) to be a knee jerk reaction or is it sort of a confirmation of the short recommendation that happen last month and started the stock tanking? Thank you for your insights.
Q: GSY: down a lot to-day (16%) - why? I think they posted results yesterday but not reported anywhere.
Buy, sell or hold? I own 1100 shs - $95.00 AC.
Thanks ...JP
Q: For me a large individual stock position is 5-7% ..... Though I may go larger on an ETF ...... And I hold a 5.16% position in GSY ...... The question now is whether to reduce that position to my comfort level for speculative stocks { 2.5 % } or get rid of it altogether ..... The knock on both PRL and GSY currently is delinquent loans ..... So I tend to look at economic conditions that may rectify that . Unemployment and inflation are the only two factors that I see that would create that situation { a financially strapped borrower } ..... In the short to mid term I don't see the economic conditions in Canada that will help either unemployment or inflation ...... Yank tariffs are going to be a detriment to both { and we haven't even begun to see tariff effects in quarterly reports } ...... I don't see any reason the next few quarters should show any improvement in delinquencies ..... Tell me why I am wrong and should stay the course with GSY ? ...... Thanks for your terrific service ........
Q: Re: Grant's question on where to buy gold (Nov 6). I started to build a position several years ago. I found that a reputable coin dealer may be the best place to buy gold. To find one, go to a coin show in your area and talk to coin dealers to find out who they view as reputable for bullion purchases and resale.
I have found the mint's prices to be very high and the Canadian banks even worse. You can easily find today's spot gold price and the gold content of common coins on the internet.
The key thing to watch is the premium you pay over bullion value and not all dealers charge the same premium. I pay 3% on purchases but only 1% on sales back to the dealer from whom I bought the gold.
Canadian Maple Leaf coins are well recognised and easy to buy and sell. For variety you can add in British Sovereigns or some US coins. If you are not a collector, coin quality is less of an issue than just looking at price vs bullion content. If you buy fancy coins celebrating pandas, dragons or some famous guy, understand that you will pay a premium that you may not recover on sale.
Q: thoughts on Q results for Well Health, well/t....looked great with record highs for Rev, etc....and Aidx reported supposedly good Q results...everything imo seemed positive....but again...stock seems to be stuck in neutral....U are the experts...what do you think on stock going forward....it has gradually bounced off lows at $4sh....but a long way from analyst targets of $7 - $9
Both GLXY and LMN have been clobbered as of late. If you were to initiate a new position in only one with the focus on growth for the next 3 years which would you side with?
This would be for a higher risk tolerant investor.
Thanks as always for all you do!
Q: This is about the blog post Revolutionizing AI – The Powerhouse GPUs Fueling the AI Breakthrough. It's an excellent article. If it hadn’t been for Denis’s question and the link you provided in your response, I would never have come across it.
By the way, when I try to find this article myself by browsing the Blog section, I can’t seem to locate it. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!
Q: hi folks, thoughts on Q3 results for Blacksky, Bksy/q....do you still like it? or is there to much uncertainty in their Sector....looks like stock going to take a hit, thx jb
I have kept MGNI for a long time and saw my profits disappear badly. Every positive momentum seems to go out of steam quickly. It has been going down with high volume in the past 3 months. Is it time to let go of MGNI? If the answer is yes, would you sell it to add to HOOD or AFRM? And why? I am open to other growth-y suggestions.
Thanks for all the good work and support you are offering 5i community.
