Q: I'm confused about when it makes sense to do tax loss selling. I am down almost 30% in CSU and LMN. Does it make sense for me to sell and register the loss and possibly rebuy after the 30 day wait? I am an older senior and don't have a lot of time to patiently wait for recovery, and despite the speed with which it dropped, I suspect recovery will be much longer. My main confusion, I think, is not really understanding how tax loss selling actually works.

Q: I currently hold a 2% position in GOOG in my TFSA and looking to deploy new funds amounting to 1,5%. Debating between adding to GOOG or diversifying with new position into NVDA. Which do you consider to have long term growth from these levels? Thank you.

Q: Two stocks, 2 questions. PNG has fallen from over $10.50 to $7.60. Was the stock run up to get favourable rates for when they raised money? Also, did it make the deal for their acquisition swim a bit easier? Where do you see things going from here? When do you think it will recover? Still a top 5i pick?
ZDC is another issue. Stock has been quite weak. I'm starting to think it may not work out all that well. They have no real moat and others can enter their market. But they have done well and recently raised money. What do you see for it going forward? Does it still make your favourite list of top stocks?

Q: GSY was my top TFSA holding and has slid with the huge downturn. It is my understanding that the company reports in the next day or two.

I am reluctant to head for the exits as I don't understand whether holding for a few years will allow a moderate recovery or if the company could literally go out of business. Is failure a probable outcome? Target prices by analysts (I know these are NOT very reliable) are still well above current prices.

Do you think the upcoming earnings report will allow for a proper assessment of the company or can they hide / spin things in a way that holding could just brings years of pain?

TODAY, would you HOLD?

Q: Hi,

If you remove your "long term focus" hat and put on a different hat, is there an opportunity to get out of the energy stocks that have seen their values skyrocket since the war in Iran, and re-enter them once things settle back down?

I know you will say that this is timing the market and we don't know if the prices will settle back down, but isn't there a strong likelihood that prices will not remain at these current levels once shipping and production returns to normal?

Thanks,

Robert
