Q: Good Evening
My broker, when recommending a stock, makes the following declaration at the end, in disclosing possible conflict of interest:
"X Broker and/or an affiliated company is a market maker, or is associated with the specialist that makes a market, in the securities of the subject company".
Can you please explain what the term "market maker" means ?
Q: MKSI announced its intention to buy the German chemical company Atotech. What are your thoughts on this move? It is a large acquisition and the initial market reaction does not seem enthusiastic
Many thanks.

Q: I'm really overweight in IT. Close to 35% but I need to get down to 20% or less. IT holdings are: KXS (3.1%); SHOP (16.9%); CSU (5.2%); TOI (0.4%); DND (0.2%); LSPD (2.0%); SYZ (1.4%); PHO (1.0%); CRWD (2%); NVDA (0.7%); DOCU (1.5%).
Not sure if it makes a difference but all are in TFSA except KXS, CRWD and DOCU (cash/margin account). Due to the fact that I'm working I don't want to trigger any taxable gains if possible. Obviously I need to trim SHOP by at least 1/2.
SYZ seems to be a laggard since it has only appreciated 45% in almost 7 years so I think I should sell that. Do you agree? (assuming a balanced portfolio).
Aren't DND and PHO going to be purchased?
I'm emotionally attached to the high gains otherwise... What's your suggestion on how to bring down my IT holdings in a tax efficient way?
Q: Happy Canada Day! Your thoughts on Aecon goup? Decent dividend. Is it safe, in your opinion? Can you see them benefitting from Infrastructure spending?
Thanks for all you do!

Q: 4:1 stock split coming soon. Will this result in a corresponding share price drop (I think so).
Is the company's strategy to make the share price look more attractive to retail investors after the split?
Is this a good indicator for share price momentum in the near future?
Q: If one has a positive long term outlook on agricultural commodities: soft commodities sugar, orange juice, coffee etc., grains and oil seeds, what is the best way to play this trend? Thank you.
The last question on RPC Inc. was back on March 1 when it was trading at $6.45. Since then it has traded largely between $5 and $6 and is at $5.05 this morning.
Any change in your assessment of RPC Inc. since then? Oil (crude futures) has appreciated ~20% during the same period, for what that's worth.
Q: Hi 5i Team - Would you be able to provide a summary of resources/materials needed in the semi-conductor space. Out of these are there any that would stand out as being particularly important. And finally are there any companies, Canadian or American, that have a good track record of providing any of these resources/materials.
Thanks.
Q: Deaar 5i,
I would like your thoughts on CRT.UN vs CTC.
In March 2020 there wax a very dramatic decline in CRT.UN vs CTC.
I would have thought CRT.UN would have experienced less of a decline in stock price.
thanks for your opinion
