Q: Sold 1/2 my portfolio (except CSU, TOI, LMN) at the end of August. First week into Sept and I'm looking smart. While I think it's still too early, when and how do I get back into market? Holdings (some sold out in August) include AMZN, META, NVDA, AMD, VRT, BN, SHOP, AXON, SNPS, NOVT, GOOG, NU, ELF.

Q: Hello, in an answer to a question back on March 8th of this year you indicated some attractive entry prices for the Canadian CDR's of the Magnificent 7. What would be your current attractive entry prices given the changes over the past few months and the recent reporting season?

I am relatively new to options and would like to buy either a straddle or a strangle (using options with around 500 days til expiration). Would it be possible to get a list of maybe 5-10 companies for which the implied volatility is significantly lower than the historic volatility? Also what other factors would you look for in a company that you are doing a straddle/strangle on?

Q: Hello, Currently I hold NVDA, Meta, Google, and Palantir stocks in the tech sector. Could you recommend additional stocks that would complement my portfolio during this AI boom? Thank you.

Q: My portfolio is 35 per cent technology. I own 600 shares of Nvidia which comprise close to 10 per cent of my holdings. I also own Goog Amazon Microsoft and Apple but no Meta. Does it make sense to sell 200 shares of Nvidia to buy into Meta at this time or do I not interfere with the Nvidia momentum.

Q: I need to increas,e my exposure to communication services by 6%. I already own GOOG. What are you suggestions and how strongly do you feel about them?

Also same question for Consumer Defensive holdings.

Q: In a recent question from Michael, regarding the Communication Services sector, 5i responded by stating “we think investors are better off without having too much capital invested in these fields”. I agree that owning BCE and T lately, especially for long-term holders, has been very frustrating to say the least.

For our combined portfolio, Portfolio Analytics indicates that our holdings in this sector have dropped to 5.9% (understandably) but PA still suggests a weight of 7% in this sector.

Two questions: (1) In light of sector weakness, which will probably continue for some time, what would be your suggested Communication Services sector weight? (2) Would you endorse some tax-loss selling of BCE and/or T but put the proceeds into another more promising sector?

Piggy backing off one of my last questions on building a solid portfolio from scratch through diversification et al(THANK YOU!). Knowing you can’t get personal; looking for some mid to long term hold recommendations (either US or CA) in the following sectors with growth upside in mind as I have significant cash (250K+) sitting in my RRSP doing nothing. I am currently quite top heavy in Tech – and own the above in registered and non-registered accounts.

If you have several recos for a sector, can you please rank in order of preference. Additionally, if there is a sector that can be put to the side with the idea of prioritizing others, I would be keen to know. Also open to add ETF's to represent a sector. Given Nvdas recent euphoria, is it time to take profits here or do you see this rise warranted and likely to hold its gains? Looking at market cap it looks set to pass apple and possibly take top spot over Microsoft soon if the stock keeps up this pace of rising. How are valuations looking here compared to the other magnificent 7 and how much possible upside can we possibly gain from here given current valuations ?

Q: I read about this company recently and bought a 1/2 position.
In reviewing a 1 year and a 3 year and 6 month chart fix out performed apple, MSFT,meta,AMZN . Which for an industrial company I found interesting.
My question , did something unique occur in the past 3 years for this outperformance and if not does the future look as bright

Q: I have a question about name changes. In your experience if/when a Company changes its name does this help or hurt. My question is specifically about Veran (Crescent Point Energy). Now I have held this Company stock and options for a long time and made lots of money on it. Also lost some along the way. They have been slowly changing their operations to be very positive ie: no more Saxberg and serial aquisitions. Now they have decided to change the name and the stock has not responded very well. I grew up on a farm and found you may dress up a pig but it is still an oinker after the dress-up. Thanks Gordo
