Q: Everyone. AI is at the beginning of a great breakout in many industries. AI is in exponentially growth period and the early adopters will benefit but the biggest beneficiaries are yet to be identified. I didn’t understand the benefits of MSFT or APPL in their pre-real growth stages. Will AI change the stock market in a profound way the humans will not be involved ie the human stock pickers. What tech areas should I look for be looking for or are they in my view already? Should we believe in the large cap tech stocks will continue to lead, or buy, the AI technology revolution? Clayton

Q: Lots has been made of Buy with Prime on Shopify. Markets certainly liked it. I came across the attached article that is quite revealing, if all is factual (no reason to believe not). Can we get your thoughts on how things unfolded? Are there any negatives, or things to be wary, for Shop getting more involved with Amazon. How important is Buy with Prime to SHOP?

Q: Morning 5i team,
I bough URI back in May 2023 and have done quite well over a short period of time. It's close to it's all time high and although it might have some more upside potential, it may be limited.
I'm thinking of switching from URI to AMZN for a possible better return.
What are your thoughts on the switch or should I stay the course or would you suggest a different stock to switch to.
I currently hold AAPL, GOOG, MSFT and NVDA in that account.
Your thoughts and reasons for your suggestions are appreciated.

Have a great day.

Joe

Q: Hi Team,
For an 18 year old who just opened their TFSA and starting with $6500, what stocks or ETFs (CDN and/or US) would you start with? There are no trading fees so there is no worry to buy 10 names if that is the best way forward.
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i,

I want to add 1 of the following consumer related US companies to an income portfolio with some growth:

COST (good growth, very small dividend)
WMT (good growth, small dividend)
AMZN (Good growth, No dividend)
KVUE (good products, good dividend, not as much growth)

Please review them, rank them in order of preference for a long term hold. If you have a better alternative, please include it.

Please deduct 5 credits, 1 for each company and 1 for the other possibility.

I look forward to your review.
John

Q: Seth Klarman's fund reported a recent trimming of Alphabet and a new purchase of Amazon. Since he is a renowned value investor how would you explain that trade from a value investor's perch? Could it be that a company like Amazon which operates many global businesses and that may be poised to move into several others meaningfully (healthcare, etc) and potentially dominate in those cannot be traditionally valued because it provides future growth opportunities like no other company can and because of that isn't able to be predictably valued? Could it be that someone like Mr Klarman is investing in Amazon for the long term because he sees no company that compares with its potential, not even an Alphabet? Could it actually be reasonably priced as a "one-of-one" company? Would like your opinion on this "analysis" of Amazon. Thank you.
