Considering the huge drop again on Friday is this just an over reaction or has something fundamentally changed? Do you see this after significant value long term or move on?

Q: Do you like the prospects of ECN at this time and do you think now is a good time to purchase shares in the Company or are there other Companies that you see as more attractive at this time? Note: I do have GSY already.

Q: I note that the dividend rate is pretty high for this company, do you believe it's sustainable? Or would you suggest an alternative?

Q: Taxes on share buybacks..The govt. is proposing to tax buybacks.. which companies do you think will get affected? What are your thoughts on this. Thanks.

Q: I’m still in the green on AQN, having owned it for a while. I held on for the dividend and because it is in a non-registered account and didn’t want to pay the tax. Of course, the share price is about half of its peak of about a year ago. I did not see any signs at the peak that AQN would have such a precipitous fall.

How to view this?
1. Tune it all out as noise and keep collecting the dividend.
2. In future, trim any stock that more than doubles and reinvest in a different company, taxes be damned.
3. Consider this drop as over done and a buying opportunity.

Q: Hi,
Having a position in AQN that is now underwater, I am wondering about selling it as well as two bank holdings that have a total profit equal to AQN's loss with the idea that I can use the proceeds to purchase another bank stock or two, top up ENB holdings, or something else you might recommend. All three holdings are in taxable accounts. Open to suggestions, as I have the sense that waiting to see how AQN does from here appears to be more risky than moving on. Your thoughts on this idea would be most appreciated!

Q: UPST has been a disappointing stock. In my TFSA, there is no opportunity for tax loss harvesting here. What US alternates would you suggest, not necessarily in the same category, that may give excellent growth potential in a market turnaround?

Q: I have held TOY for a number of years. It has been a frustrating ride. They have lots of cash, a great balance sheet and a seeminly strong presence in the toy industry ..... but it never seems to get the same multiples as its peers. Every once in a while it reports a decent quarter or offers encouraging guidance and a twinkle of its potential is shown, but it just never seems to build on the momentum. I hate to be selling TOY "at the bottom" if the pendulum is about to swing back hard, but I am considering selling TOY and increasing my small holding in ECN. ECN seems to be a much more shareholder friendly company with strong management who are seeing their sp under pressure as well. Which do you think has more potential for relatively safe, oversized returns over the next 5 years ? If you have concerns about both, and think there are better alternatives, where would you put your money instead?

Q: A very credible management plans to have a loan book of $4B at the end of fiscal 2025. When they reach that goal, can you make a conservative range guess of EPS?
Do you think their FCF will be enough to reach their goal without doing an equity financing?

Q: Further to your response to an inquiry about Knight Therapeutic results, could you comment in any detail on management performance. They have been in charge for at least five years, the cash position is down from $800M to $145M {after buying GBT and company shares, etc.) and the stock price is down half from the $10 plus when Goodman brought them in and then disappeared.
I know he had an accident, but I saw him on BNN a couple of years ago and he looked fine, just made too much money on Paladin.
There just doesn't seem to be any drive to improve the company and increase shareholder value. Management seems unmotivated. Should Goodman replace them or sell the company to someone who can realize it's potential before I turn 100?

Q: ECN.PR.C is currently at a 52 week low of $23.75 with a yield of 8.34%. Would you consider the dividend income to be relatively stable over the next 5 year period?

Q: If I was to request to have SHOP moved from a US account to a Cdn account - how does it work? If say i had 100 shares in a US account - would they simply add 100 shares to the Canadian account and equivalent cash for exchange or would they add the equivalent shares - say 135 to account for the foreign exchange difference?
