Q: Re: IPl takeover. I already have a full position in Pembina ,and am ,at this point quite reluctant to trigger any capital gain. In looking at both offers, it seems that the Brookfield offer could be the best for me. Is there anything that I might be missing ? Thank you for your help.

Q: 2021 was expected to be a good year for the agriculture industry. However it appears the heat wave in North America will reduce harvest. NTR comprises 4.5% of my growth portfolio. Would it be a good idea to reduce exposure in NTR?

Thanks for the service you provide.

Q: Good Morning.
I have some shares in these US pipelines, as well as ENB.
With WMB being a limited partnership - what will the tax consequences be with CRA in relation to their dividend payments?
Thank you.

Q: You’ve mentioned that you generally like to keep single ETF exposure to 15%. Since VGG and VGH invest in the same underlying ETF (VIG), should I keep exposure to 15% between them, or could they each still be 15%?

Thank you.

Q: Wow, that was some news about EIF's acquisitions. Good for EIF...and thanks for your previous comment to me about not seeing any reason to change (May 17, 2021).......Now with a weighting of 2.3% but with a risk rating that I would say is 3, moving up to 4 out of 5, I'm pondering increasing my EIF weighting....Me, like the 5.67% dividend, too.......What say you, aka your take please!!!......Tom

Q: Hello 5i Team

Caribbean Utilities (CUC) was listed in the blog article as companies paying a US$ denominated dividend.

1 – Since Caribbean Utilities is a Cayman Island domiciled company, is it correct that the dividends would NOT be eligible Canadian dividends and therefore NOT eligible for the dividend tax credit (i.e. would be treated similar as US domiciled companies and dividends treated as ordinary income).

2 – According to the CUC website, there is no withholding tax on the dividends, therefore would CUC be best held in a RRSP in conjunction with other US utility companies?

3- CUC is owned approximately 58.5 % by Fortis, why does this ownership percentage not appear on the company information page of the 5i Research?

4 – How does CUC compare / rank with other similar US listed utilities (same market size cap and/or electrical distribution market focused)?

Thank you
