Q: Hey thanks for suggesting this name - I bought it yesterday when it fell and boy is it ripping today. Looks like a future Monster Beverage type of stock. Thanks.

Q: Good day,
Did a huge portfolio makeover a few months ago, almost entirely with your picks (minus a few that didn't click for me) and some of my high own high conviction names. For the most part, they've all done pretty well, with the exception of the last few weeks.
1. Is the last few weeks just overall uncertainty/retraction?
2. bep and bip are down ~15%, is it worthwhile getting out and averaging down BAM or BNS?
3. ATS and CELH are down after large runups after I bought. worth buying/averaging down on one of these?
4. DCBO and NXT back to scratch after huge runs. Do you expect those levels to return? Timeline wise? NXT spun from FLEX, but Flex continues to climb
5. KXS is down 8%, and seems pretty spikey over the last 5 years. Just wait for the next one? Should this start to create more of a steadier trend upward?
6. I bought POWL, and it's basically done nothing, thoughts on the company now? alternatives?
7. I saw a youtuber vid that really loved POET for the coming months years. I was telling a friend about it yesterday because I like (and understand) the technology and what it could do. He literally bought some while we were talking yesterday morning and he's up 30%... Are the company fundamentals/contracts improving? or could it just be hype from youtubers and the like?
Almost all of these had some pretty significant periods of running since I rebalanced in Jan/Feb. I know market timing is not a solid practice, but in a lot of these growth names, at what point is that jump worth moving on from, freeing up some cash for another opportunity down the road? And how do you determine whether it's time or not?
Finally, in the event that your attitudes have changed on any of these, do you have a top 3 CAD, top 3 US new ideas over the last few months that have really turned the tide/become strong buys that I may replace/add?
Thanks for everything!
James

Q: Hi team,
About 6 month ago, you provided a list of 10 stocks you considered "high conviction" buys. Thus, I bought VRT, HPD.A, LLMN. I have no regrets so far....for good reasons.
Grateful if you would provide your actual high conviction list, both in Canadian and U.S. stocks, indicating your order of strongest conviction.
Gratefully,
Jacques IDS

Q: In any otherwise well diversified RIF portfolio I am considering exiting T and BEP.
I am looking to replace them with a couple of holdings that you feel have far greater upside in the next 3-5 years (realizing that the volatility may increase to some extent but in line with the potential for greater returns).
I have referred to several of your current favourites (which we do not currently hold) as potentials and am open to other suggestions you might have along the same lines.
If you could comment on the elimination of T and BEP and also if you believe any of the listed ones (or others ) would provide a substantially better risk/rewad profile over the next 3-5 years it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Terry

Q: Hi 5i,
Just a quick follow up on Marco's question concerning Celsius.
Was there anything released in the March 15th update that is having an impact on Celsius's contraction. Something along the lines of giving over to Pepsi Co some earnings?
In the Globe and Mail there was massive insider selling, up to that announcement in March. Was that a coincidence?
What is the current short position on Celsius? How has this changed over the last three months? Is this short position high or low for a company with a market cap of $17B usd?
I know you'd rather we 5i'ers not buy/sell or grow positions around earnings; however, if something significant has changed, should we wait and see what Celsius reports to get more details on the expansion with Pepsi co and how that will impact Celsius's bottom line (Earnings rather than Revenue)?
TIA!

I was considering FCX or EXP as I am light on materials. Would either of these fit in an RRSP, and which of these two would be your preference at this time?
Thank you
Please deduct as you deem fit.

Q: Over the last couple of months and as a result of comments made here I have started positions in the above five companies with funds allocated to higher growth potential/higher potential volatility etc.
Four of the five have done very well so thank you. In keeping with your philosophy of pulling the weeds and watering the flowers I have a couple of questions:
1) Would you sell ESTC at this point in time and realocate the funds to one of the four flowers or to a "new" high reward potential investment you would suggest?
2) The ESTC issue aside, would you be adding to any of these flowers at this point in time and in which order?
Thanks for guidance over these last number of years,
Terry

Q: I need to trim SMCI, NVDA and VRT. I have partial positions in AMZN, MSFT, AMD, LLY,GOOG, AXON, NXT, CELH, PLTR and NTNX. Could you please order the partial positions from high to low, for a potential add? What are your recommendations for 4 or 5 other growth stocks, any size/sector that I could investigate for a new position? Would any of the these growth stocks fit into the ranking of the partial positions? If so, could you place them into the ranking? Thanks very much for this service and the patience you show, in answering the many questions!
Q: Do you think now would be a good entry point for a new position. If not what price would you suggest?
Q: Hi 5i!
Can you comment the news about Celcius and Pepsico? Your toughts on the 7% drop, is it an occasion to add more shares?
Thanks!
Frank

Q: I want to spend the next 14 months growing my TFSA to pay down my mortgage when it comes due in June 2025. I started this quest about 6 months ago with 20% of the funds, and I'm now about halfway there. I have funds in US for 6 positions, and Canadian for 3, and currently own the above stocks. I haven't yet made my TFSA contribution for 2024, so could add a position to either. Keeping in mind the remainder of my portfolio is well balanced (cash account and RRSP) and this is a 14-month growth mission, do you see anything I should sell, or can you recommend something I should buy?

Q: As part of a growth oriented US$ portfolio, I have 1.5% positions in each of VRT and CELH . I now have some extra cash available from taking a bit of the very nice profit in my SMCI holding (thank you, 5i)
My plan was to increase one or both of those 1.5% positions with that cash, but I have also been considering a starter position in AXON. Your comments would be appreciated, and if you think Axon would be your preference, could you give a ballpark buy price.
Many thanks, as always.
