Q: Hello,
I am considering selling LSPD and buying more ARX and/or CVE given the current environment. Would this plan be a good way to make money in a down market?
Does a portfolio, that is made up of the stocks listed above, agreeable to you if one has a longer term time frame, say 5 years plus and has a high tolerance for risk?
I would be very reluctant to sell shares in LSPD and more inclined to purchase more. Like previous short attacks on high growth companies like SHOP and NVDA, I'm quite sure this one will prove to be bogus and just another cynical attempt to profit from the resulting sell-off. In the case of SHOP and NVDA short attacks, the short-sellers who issued the reports even pledged to give lavish donations to charities if the stocks recovered (In the case of SHOP, $200,000 USD was pledged if it ever rose above $200!). Wouldn't we all love to buy SHOP for that price today?
My only question in all of this is whether there will ever be any regulatory control over short-attacks that can be proven to be opportunistic.
Q: I asked this last week but haven't seen a response yet, so ignore if the answer is pending. I hold these as a basket of spec stocks looking for extreme growth. I've done well with all but MTLO and I'm wondering if it still fits here or if I should let it go and roll into the remainder. Would you have a favorite one or two from this list? Any you would run away from?
Q: Do you think high inflation or even stagflation will come to fruition in the near future? If yes, is it best to save and build up your cash position or continue to invest in great companies in both scenarios?
Which stocks/sectors would be best to invest in a high inflation or stagflation environment?
Thanks
Q: Hi 5iresearch team
Can you please recommend 3 Canadian stocks for each of the industrial and healthcare sectors that you think will perform well in 2022?
Dividends is a bonus but not a must.
Thanks a lot for the great service.
Q: Thinking of adding a small TFSA position with one of these, looking for a potential “pop” with a 5 year outlook without regard to risk. Is there one you like better than than others for that potential?
Appreciate your insight as always.
Q: What is your opinion on CHR. I've got a bit in my TFSA that I'm up on and more in my cash account that I will be selling for a tax loss, I'm wondering if I should sell now or wait a few more months
I'd like to swap into agriculture and precious metals if you have any top picks
Q: I was watching Xylem's investor day presentation today. One of the things they mentioned was:
"Underlying demand continues to be robust, with higher-than-expected growth in orders and backlog, but the global supply chain environment has become increasingly volatile, including with respect to escalating electronic component shortages. The Company currently estimates adverse revenue impacts of approximately $100 million in the second half of the year"
Is this part of the reason the stock is down today? I own it in my margin account, and was planning on starting a small position in my RRSP. You think this dip is a good entry point?
