Q: Can I ask you to do a “mental screen” for a few mid-cap Cdn companies that pay over a 3% dividend while having the potential for above average growth in the medium to longer term? Please omit SIS, PBH, EIF and NWC (already owned) and leave out anything in the energy sector. I’m assuming not much in the small cap space would meet the div. criteria and not much in the large cap space meets the growth criteria, but if you think anything there is compelling please include as well. Thank you.
Q: Hi-For some reason this company is in your database as being listed on the CNX exchange. It should be the TSX Venture I believe. As well, could you let me know what you think of it?
Q: I own AMD but not NVDA. I believe that NVDA has a better growth profile and was thinking of a straight-up switch. I hold AMD in an RRSP account so there wouldn't be any tax consequences. Does this make sense?
Q: I have invested in a combination of your growth and balanced funds for 7 full years. Besides my profound enjoyment in following my investments, I ask myself if my 8.5% compounded return over these 7 years is satisfactory. A difficult answer I'm sure; I'm simply wondering if some form of longer term mix of ETF's or S&P 500 is more rewarding financially and forsaking my investment enjoyment. Your comment would be appreciated.
Q: Further to my question regarding my 22 year old son. Do you think the approach to buy just the SPY is ok or would you recommend a diverse group of ETF's and maybe a few stocks? If so which ones?
Q: I have held both of these stocks for a long time but beginning to feel that they will not be doing much for a while. Can you see either returning to growth this year?
Thank You
Peter
Q: Good Evening
Many analysts are downgrading CPX and some indicate that the pay out ratio is 109% putting the dividend in jeopardy.
I will appreciate your insight going forward.
Is the dividend safe, is it a hold or sell ?
Thanks as always for your comments.
Q: If you wanted to replace CVD in a portfolio that resembles the income portfolio, would you reinvest in the other current securities or would you replace it with another security? Secondly, what would would you consider replacing it with that would give you better tax treatment, for one who is relying on the portfolio almost entirely for retirement income?
Q: With today's jump in ARM and current valuation, would you suggest selling and buying back when things settle ? I was tempted to sell when it hit $120+, but did not...
- I love many facts about the company and thought buying at $78 was expensive, but realistically what are the 5i Crystal ball suggestions and recommendations ...
Q: I already hold a bit of TFII and WSP but would like more in industrials. I’m thinking of either adding to TFII or starting a position in STN or TT. Is there still good reason to add to TFII? If not, both STN and TT have good momentum, but as I already hold WSP, would TT make more sense?
Q: Hi 5i
How do you view CGX current earnings.... another big hit to the share price...
Current share holder, still have a 2 year horizon but trying to decide.... buy hold or move on.
