Q: Hi 5i Team - I am ready to sell Mission Ready but when selling a losing stock I prefer to replace it quickly with a similar company, in this case not necessarily in the same sector but with a similar market cap along with with better fundamentals and better growth profile. What would be your suggestion(s) be for a replacement. Thanks.

Q: What would be some of your top picks (Canadian, U.S.) for buying based on (presumably temporary) downward pressures due to current tax loss selling?

Q: With year-end tax harvesting, I have sold off some of my holdings in the 6 stocks listed above. Can you please tell me which (if any) are worth buying again after 30 days; please rate from best to worst. If possible, can you recommend a few other over sold good long-term Canadian stocks that may be a buy now with year-end selling. Thanks!!!

Q: In the growth portfolio you bought REAL for $12.95 and sold it, per your Oct 12 update, on a day when the highest price it traded at was $9.81, locking in a 24% loss. If you "like the industry and the company's fundamentals continue to look decent," isn't this a classic case of "buy high, sell low" when nothing but sentiment has changed in the company's long term outlook?

Analyst consensus EPS is $0.47/share in 2022 and $0.56/share in 2023. If such earnings materialize, this would be 19% growth in earnings for a company with no debt. I know it's a big if, but if REAL does achieve $0.56/share in 2023, traders selling it today would be selling a stock with estimated 19% growth in earnings for only 17 times 2023 earnings. What am I missing?

I took a quick look at the 5I Growth Portfolio and found that a couple of your big losers, QST and MRS, are bigger losers than REAL and have no earnings and/or none forecast. Why not sell these instead of REAL?

Q: Looking at some recommended company's that are near 52 week lows that have a lot of future growth and years of multiple upside. Can you suggest your top 5 companies that fit this criteria(and why you believe the upside potential). I would like to set and forget(for years) for my next few purchases. thx for the great service

Thanks

Q: your opinion about MCR please.
Why is this company lagging the oil sector?you would think it would move with oil price going up.
Is there a chance it would be a take-over candidate?
are there other companies that you prefer ,like Questor or XBC?

Q: The active North American Oil Rig count has been steadily rising week after week according to reports. Shouldn't this be a good predictor for what is to come for Questor Technologies' core business over the next several quarters. Is it good time begin to accumulate the stock again given its strong balance sheet and if you have a longer investment horizon?

Q: Hi team!

I currently hold MG, NPI, QST, REAL in my TFSA and am down in all. Which would be your favorite to add another half position to at the moment?

Or would this be a better opportunity for me to take that money and purchase NVEI at this current lower price point?

Thanks for all you do!

Q: Hi 5i
In watching the performance of my TFSA, I am not liking the 2020/2021 performance direction and momentum.

The combination of 2020/2021 has been dreadful for holdings such as USA, XBC, STC and QST.....and has significantly affected total portfolio performance.
In the mix are also TF, AQN and FSZ; all for income but was expecting some level of growth.
It was good to be holding ECN but the % was too low to make significant benefit.

With QST and USA both down 60% from original purchase, does one just continue to hold for performance recovery; Business fundamentals and potential take-out (QST) and mine performance and silver price recovery (USA)?

Making a switch from one horse to other has rarely worked for me. Does any of the companies make you say sell and move on or just hold through the already low price positions?

XBC is obviously not expected to reach $11.00 any time soon as the company no longer looks like the one that reached $11.00 earlier this year. They have a good business mix in segments that make sense today. Does one just hold on for Management to get their act together and run off the negatively contributing contracts?

Q: Hi 5i,
QST's results announced this morning look dismal to me and I'm not seeing much cause for optimism going forward. I hold a few thousand shares in my TFSA and I'm down 30% before market open today. No reason to sell for tax loss purposes and don't need the money right now, but I don't want to just sit and watch things get worse for a year or two.
Is my pessimism justified and should I just take my lumps now, or am I missing some reason for optimism such that hanging in there through at least the next quarter might be warranted?
I look forward to your thoughts - thanks.
Petere

Q: XBC, REAL, PRN and QST, are down significantly this year. At current valuations, are these a Buy, Hold or Sell. If buying, what would you guess might be a good entry point for each.
Thank you!!
