Q: qst posted earnings on Monday. looked like good results although comparative previous numbers were low so only way was up. will these results generate more interest? what do you see looking forward? will they be able to cash in on the methane reduction movement? they seem positioned for it but are they too small to get noticed?

Q: Comments on the Q ? speculations going forward?
Q: did qst recently release earnings. if so, how were they. did they meet analyst expectations. do you think it is candidate to have a rebound considering their technology.

Q: In a recent answer you mentioned there are better microcaps to own than MRS. Can you suggest 2 or 3 that are equally as beaten down but that have much better potential over the next 24 months or so.
Q: Could you provide an update on the balance sheet of Questor, in particular its balance sheet along with cash and debt positions. Also Insider holdings and trading. Are you concerned that it has not had any press releases in 2022, especially with rising oil and gas prices along with green initiatives. What is your opinion of management. Thanks.
Q: In their earnings release the important take-away was the inquiries by potential new purchases. That is very different from revenues coming in the door. How do you assess promises vs holding this investment?
Q: It seems the last Federal Budget would be great for them and yet the shares are going backwards, why?
Q: Hi folks...I admit know little on managing gas emissions, carbon tax, etc...but does not Questor specialize in this field??...I see it is in "Growth Portfolio" for awhile...Q3 showed some promise and guessing Q4 results soon....are U still positive on company..and does all announcements by Fed Gov't on "climate change, etc"...potentially benefit Questor....management good?..& who is competitiion...Buy/Hold/Sell.....thanks as always, jb Piedmont QC

Q: It's clear that when one invests in small caps it's important to buy a basket to protect oneself from those that might not do well. Assuming one currently has no small caps in his portfolio, I wonder what that basket would look like. Taking into consideration all of the noise in our current market and prospects for the future, what six companies would you buy today to build that basket of small caps.

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
The above 5 stocks are all small positions in my Industrial basket. All are in negative territory. I have held stocks that I wish I had sold due to opportunity cost and sold several that I regretted when they bounced sharply. I have zero issues holding a lot of stocks in my basket if the risk/reward justifies it. However if there are one or more of the 5 that clearly have better prospects going forward I should be smart enough to sell some and add to others. My positions in the favorites ATA,WSP,TRI and TFII are where I would like them.
Thoughts?
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Everyone, you suggested a number of micro caps stocks rather than one or two. Recently you have suggested MTLO and PNP. Can you recommend another three? Individually I will invest $1000 each and with the assumption that they could go to zero. Many thanks.
Q: Any news related to QST that would account for the price jump of ~12% on 3/23/22?
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i
What Game Plan would you consider executing for the following situations...........?
For all these stocks I have been holding off taking action as there has been no new information to support any action. Now given rapid price decline, I have become concerned about share restructuring and shareholders being diluted to death for the micro caps.
I will be waiting for earnings on the ones still to be released.
While you do not want to hear it, all these except XBC/LSPD were 5i induced purchases so some thoughts on possible action at this point would be appreciated.
None of these are causing me a problem except for being down.
As a Portfolio Manager, how best to manage these positions inside a broadly diversified Portfolio?
If they are to be kept, at some point I will have to either add to the tiny positions or get rid of them. But when and on what information?
TFSA Holdings (where the growth is supposed to be)
QST - down 40%. Size is now at half position size at this point.
XBC - down 38%. Size is now back to near full position size after riding the round trip.
STC - was up 25% and now down 20%, Half position size.
Taxable Account
AT - Down 19%. Sitting on half position since buying on Jan 12/22
ANRG - Down 37%. Sitting on less than half position since buying on Feb 2/22
LSPD - Down 64% on a poorly executed Options trade. Hold only 1/3 position.
And KXS which disgusts me as I knew I should have sold while I watched it at $229. Position size is full position.
Thanks
Dave

Q: Hi 5i Team - Could you provide an update on the fundamentals of Questor including cash on hand, level of debt, revenue, etc. Also do you think they have a management team that could take this company to the next level. Are there still decent growth prospects for this company. Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i,
I wrote inquiring about the above names mid week last week but didn't get an answer - I'm pretty sure i hit submit but possibly not.
I'm down on each - on some significantly - and was looking forward to a post tax loss selling bounce, but none came. In act, all but WELL were down on January 4 before the interest rate news hit on the afternoon of January 5, and all have continued to drop like stones since. I'm concerned that droppage would be happening even if the Fed hadn't scared people about interest rates, and I have the depressing feeling I own a basket of stone losers.
If I sell out of each now and put the funds into some good dividend payers like ENB, SU, POW, BNS I might (hopefully) recoup my losses or at least cut them considerably by this time next year.
For each of the names could you tell me if you think it's a good idea to punt now before further losses accumulate, or are there any that you think have a reasonable prospect of returning to their early to mid 2021 levels by the end of 2022.
I really will appreciate your thoughts and advice - feeling a little beaten up right now ...
Thanks,
Peter

Q: Good morning, I have 32 positions spread between the two TFSA's that I manage. I'd like to get that down to 25. The above are holdings that have fallen to less than half positions and I'm wondering if you could suggest 6 or 7 for removal. Also are there any that you would add to in order to bring them up to half positions. Secondly, without knowing my weightings, do you have a suggested sector or two for this years TFSA contribution?

Q: Hi 5i & Happy New Year!
On the assumption there will be some names that will see a nice bump in January as buyers get back in after tax loss selling and maybe other factors have caused some recent price reductions, are there 4 or 5 that you would recommend as good candidates for early January purchase to take advantage of that bump before the tax loss sellers can re-up?
And if you think the idea isn't sound, please let me know, and why.
Thanks!
Peter
