Q: Would you comment on American Hotels selling its Economy Lodging portfolio to focus on the premium branded hotels. Lately they have been active is bringing many of its recent purchases up to the premium standard and that has cost a couple of million per hotel.
Thanks,
Ron

Q: What do you think of buying TCW under one dollar as type of call option on the unloved Canadian energy sector? What is the likelihood of TCW shares going to zero in the next 24 months?
Still waiting for clarification on BRE payout ratio as well.

Q: Hi Peter
Long time since I asked a question . Canadian tire seems to have gone south . Scotia gave it a 195 target price . Do you think that going forward in their businesses they are heading in that direction . Or in other words, would you buy it at this time .

Q: Would you step in now on these two given fwd PE and PEG for both are higher than 5 year average? Given their markets can they sustain their growth?
According to Stockreports analysts are forecasting 21% growth in 2019 and 38% in 2020 for FSV, what is driving it? What is the PEG for FSV? Considering both have a similar fwd PE and FSV has better growth, do you agree FSV is better value ? Thank-you.

Morneau Shepell Inc. (MSI)
-
Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI)
-
SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (DIA)
Q: Can you please advise which ETF you prefer and why: VTI or DIA?
And secondly, why is MSI rated as a hold? I'm up 40% over the last year...and it comes with a respectable dividend of 2.54%. What am I missing here?
Thank you.

Q: Would you consider People Corp a relatively safe stock. Considering it's not very big market cap and can u see them initiating a dividend sometime, thanks?
Q: Please comment on the acquisition announced this morning. Thank you.
Q: I want to park money into TDB8150 & TDB8152 does this goes down if the market goes down. Is this same as holding in a high-interest savings account.
Thanks
Hector

Q: Which of these companies do you think has the highest dividend safety? Regarding VET, I am reminded that yield is a function of price and not directly related to performance - a company does not reduce its dividend just because the yield jumps - more likely a buyback if the fundamentals are reasonable.
-
BMO Ultra Short-Term Bond ETF (ZST)
-
Global X Active Ultra-Short Term Investment Grade Bond ETF (HFR)
Q: With respect to Larry's earlier question about ZST, I was surprised that you did not mention HFR as a better alternative. Althought ZST has a lower MER than HFR (0.17% vs. 0.4%) and a better distribution (2.9% vs 2.4%), its value has declined consistently (-15%) in the past eight years unlike that of HFR (0%). I see no reason to recommend ZST in preference to HFR so why would you?
Q: Last year I asked about RingCentral. You gave a positive review & I
bought a small amount.
Why all the excitement today?

Q: Do you agree with Gordon Pape’s opinion of NFI?

We sold some shares last year at a substantial profit but kept some which is currently around a 3% weighting and we are still up over 100%. I wonder if we should be selling the rest? The company is still profitable but the future profitability seems to be opaque. Mr. Pape comments on the drop in new orders (firm and options). Just wondering if he is spinning the numbers? Has there been a big decline in firm orders excluding options and any idea historically how solid an option to purchase a bus become an actual purchase? When a buyer places an option to purchase a bus does this cost the purchaser any money? If there is no cost to purchase an option to buy a bus then it would seem to be a pretty weak number since the buyer doesn’t have “skin in the game” so to speak.
Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

Q: Do you think Regn is a buy at this price?
Q: Hi, please provide your comments on recent earnings. Shares are selling off today.
Q: I would appreciate your comments on the 6% drop in the CIGI share price this morning. Would you recommend purchasing at these prices?
Q: I need to increase international exposure by 30% and decrease Canadian by the same amount.
Could you list 3 international ETFs that would be most tax efficient for each of RRSP, TFSA and a non registered accounts.
Thanks
Jeff

Q: Kindly provide your view on the Q2 results and guidance for the rest of the year. Looks like both are off/lower, and would it be a buying opportunity or stay away for now. Thanks.
