Q: Good morning, I have always wanted to purchase one of the exchanges. If you had to choose one or two, which one would you favour ?
And would you make a few comments on owning them in a portfolio?
thanks, Rick

Q: I am considering switching from PWF to X .
I think the total return picture for the next five looks much better for TMX group. Your opinion please taking into consideration the capital preservation factor.

Q: Hi 5i,

I'm looking to increase my current Financial Sector weighting from 5 to 15%. I currently hold BNS @ 2.2%, SLF @ 1.5%, and GSY @ 1.3%. What would you add too and/or too a new position? I don't like to have more than 5-6% of one holding, of course this would be risk adjusted down according to market cap/safety.

Last part, on sector weightings. I follow your general recommendation and I noticed you changed the following from Oct'18 to Jan'19 as follows:
Consumer disc. 10 up to 15,
Consumer staples 10 down to 5,
InfoTech 20 down to 15, and
Utilities 5 up to 10.

Can you add some commentary behind these sector weight changes?

Thanks, Chris.

Q: TMX Group looks pretty attractive on a few valuation metrics and its balance sheet looks pretty strong as well. How quickly can a poor market influence TMX's eps expectations? Are its earnings pretty much insulated from a poor market, or can a poor market knock down its earnings expectations, 10%, 20%, 30%??

Thanks.

Q: Happy New Year 5i Team.
We have been considering TMX Group (X-T) to add to our holdings for some time.
We are long term hold and income investors.

In a recent answer to a question (December 11, 2017) regarding TMX you replied…
“..The main concern would be the lack of new listings, but listing are somewhat cyclical.”
David Baskin, regarding TMX mentioned on BNN (January 4, 2018) … “Business is going well on all fronts, and the TSX was #1 in international listings last year.”
Do the recent ‘newly’ listed cannabis companies on the TSX improve your opinion of the ‘lack of new listings’ ?

Perhaps I am misinterpreting something here, if so I do apologize.
Do you happen to have any new outlook for TMX for 2018?
Thank You
Dennis

Q: Was about to enter positions in these names but they all took off 5 percent or greater after earning release. Would you wait for them to settle before starting a position? Other then a major market correction when is the best time to buy?

Cash flow from operating activities of $67.0 million, up 20%. They are also raising the dividend 11%. Any idea for the drop of 5.5% this morning? Do you suggest I hold or sell?
