Q: Hi,
I hold CNR for over 10 years and its percentage in my Canadian portfolio has grown to more than 10%, Is it time to take some profit and reallocate the proceed to resource sector that is currently under weighted in my portfolio?
Thanks,

Martin

Q: I recently added a few "commodity" stocks and they've recently had very strong runs...Would you be inclined to hold them or take some profits? None of them represent an oversized portion of my portfolio. I'm just thinking after such sizeable gains in a short term...they must be due for a pullback. What macroeconomic indicators would you use to identify a change in outlook?

Q: I keep a small portion of my portfolio for trading opportunities. With volativity back in the market, can you recommend a few stocks that you would 'trade' in this market. I am currently trading cpg and valeant. Any other ideas?

Q: Hi,
I currently do not have a lot of exposure to the materials sector (my % is at 6% versus my target of 8%). Other than owning CCL, my only exposure is thru the broad based ETF's I own.
I would like your suggestion regarding what would be your top companies in this sector at present time (3 to 4). I am more of a growth at a reasonable price investor and prefer owning companies that either pay a dividend or are buying back shares.
Thanks for your help.

Q: Hello 5i team,
In response to a member's question regarding the number of holdings in the BE portfolio, you mentioned that your were hoping to reduce it from 27 to 25...hopefully via possible takeovers; which 2 did you have in mind?
Thanks,
Antoine

Q: Hi 5i
Sorry if you receive an unfinished question from me as my computer is doing some strange things. I have been looking at MX graph for last year and comparing to share buy backs. The latest increase in share price is coincident with March buybacks as occurred in September as well. Then the price seems to drop off in a bit of a decline. I see that institution selling seems to be in line with this as well. So I guess my question is, should I wait to buy until the share buyback declines.
Regards
Kathy

Q: If you were thinking that there may be a merger between these two companies, had CDN & US cash to deploy in both, and were not over-weight in the sector, would you purchase both companies? If you were to only choose one to benefit the most, which would you enter into at today's prices?
Thanks!

Q: Hello, you recently replied to a question say this stock need not be owned. My view is the same as the last person, but, if I were to sell this stock what would you recommend I replace it with. Thank you, Bill.
