Q: Greetings 5i Team,
I have room for two of the three names listed above (materials). How would you rank them in order of growth potential 3-5 yr (minimum) hold? Would you offer another Cdn name to throw into the mix?
Thanks as always

Q: Questions about two companies but with the same overriding issue - what to do when a company you liked, and continue to like, has dropped to become a smallish portion in your portfolio i.e. >2%. I try to maintain a focused portfolio but in both cases, these stocks have fallen due to their lack of performance while the rest of the portfolio has continued to perform. Is it best to top each up to at least a 2% - 2 1/2% position, just leave them or sell either/both?

I appreciate your insight.

Q: The sad state of the Canadian fosil energy sector has me torn between cutting my loses and moving on ( too late for PGF....) or doubling down on a few names when things are in the dumps.... With the exception of Suncor ( dont need more and happy with it so wont sell), what do I do with my current energy holdings. Thanks to the poor recent performance they are down to about 10% of my total holdings. Dump, hold, add, or double down on these names please.

Q: Time to invest some dividends sitting around in cash. I want to top up one of these 3 holdings. Which is the best opportunity to add right now. These are my 3 smallest holdings ( PZA and MX due to drops, MAL bought a small position that has done well) so want to top one of them up.

Q: You have mentioned in the past that MX "has some degree over methanol prices" yet the main reason for the current decline in profits was low pricing. Just how much ability to price products do they really have? Will the new facility, once it is on stream, increase this ability? I still like the company but I am wondering if pricing truly provides any kind of advantage.

Appreciate your insight.

Q: If you didn’t have a position in MX right now would you start one now after their quarterly results, ...please explain why or why not?
FYI I am looking for growth and I need a holding in this sector and have at least a 5 year time horizon. If you have other suggestions that would be great also.

Q: I am considering these companies to buy on 3-yr. time frame. Moderate risk tolerance.
Could you please rate them, separately, in terms of !. Risk 2. Growth potential ( MX and MG Canadian). Take credits accordingly. Thanks Jim

Q: I need to increase my materials sector. I am a 73 year old value investor with a balanced, diversified 60 /40 portfolio with cash, laddered gic's and fixed ETF's. I am looking at either Nutrien, Methanex, or any other dividend payer that you may suggest as a good fit.
Thank you
Stanley.

Q: Hello

I read MA is to acquire tech firm for an undisclosed sum. Since then, the stock has been dipping down .
Would you see this acquisition a plus to the company and would you recommend buying some stock here?
MX - stock is down drastically since Dec2018 and did not recover yet.
The company stated they reached an 5 year agreement with ENAP for natural gas supply to its Chile operations.
What is your outlook on the company in general and do you see the stock recover soon ?

Thank you

Q: I sold my holdings in MX more than 30 days ago intending to buy in agail as I think the company has been unfairly beaten up. Considering tax loss selling, a spike seems remote unless they report amazing results on Oct 30. Do you think its too early to jump back in? Would it be prudent to to wait until maybe mid November. The charts are really unhelpful but it is above its 50 day moving average.

Q: I could use a tax loss sale prior to y/end. Which of these two, or both, would you recommend selling? Would there be any rush in getting back into these positions a few months hence? Are you re-considering your positions in either of these companies?
