Q: With you getting rid of MMX from your model portfolio, what replacement for gold exposure would you prefer? I like the royalty model.

Q: I am a Brookfield fan but a retired income investment. However I mamage two RESPs which will not need to make withdrawals for at least 12 years. It seems a no brainer to invest in BAM in these two accounts right now given the misunderstandings about them. My question is should it be BAM or BN?
Q: Could you please comment on their earnings today. Thx
Q: Hello Peter, Apologize as i know you have addressed this but i am still confused. I would appreciate it if you can answer each of my concerns to clarify.
1. I hold both bep.un and bip.un in RRSP and TFSA. Will there be withholding tax as of Jan 2023 in both cases and if so, is the 10 percent tax on dividends and capital gains only ? If this is the case, I am assuming the brokerage would use the ACB to calculate the gains.
2. Would it better to sell both of these and redirect monies into BN and BAM
3. If i decide i don't want to deal with the tax , can i simply exchange both for bipc and bepc and if so, am I not losing as the prices of bipc and bepc are much higher and dividends are lower yield wise
4. Lastly if there is withholding tax on tfsa and rrsp, how do we recover it..
5. Could the tax just be on tfsa and not rrsp as rrsp is normally exempt from any withholding of dividends etc
Sincere thanks and happy holiday season..

Q: I got a note from BMO Investorline to fill out form W-8BEN regarding US withholding taxes.
Do I have to fill out this form if I only by US stocks in an RRSP?
thanks,
Paul

Q: Do you prefer one pipeline over the other? Is there any point in owning both? Should I consider any other pipelines that deliver oil and gas to the U.S.A.?
Q: Hi Peter
There was news today that TC energy's spills have become more intense in the past decade. Is it possible this report may result in some serious repercussions for the company?
It has been many days since the recent spill and yet the root cause has not been identified.
Is there a quality issue with TC energy?
Overall, is it safe to continue holding TC stock ?

Q: Peter and Co.
Thank you for the great research that you provide to retail investors.
I use the futures markets when planning many of my investments. While I can find futures quotes for commodities and US exchanges I cannot find any for Canadian exchanges. Are there any free futures quotes available for the TSX or TSXv?
With appreciation.
Ed

Q: This stock has done very well in the last year and has outperformed a stock like KHC. How do you feel about its future as a buy today?
Thanks again

Q: The Globe and Mail has an interesting piece on DND. Apparently the CEO has received share grants of over 9,000,000 shares in the last 3 years. These have a current market value of over $100,000,000. The market cap of the company is only $900,000,000. I see red flags, but Mr. Proud sees a parade. What do you think?
Q: hi
any idea what is going on with the price of BAM. it continues to slide down? are investors waiting for price decline enough for a larger yield??
cheers, chris

Q: Good Evening 5i,
I am a retired income investor with very little knowledge of and exposure to bonds.
Looking for your thoughts/opinions and suggestions on aggregate bond funds.
These funds apparently give exposure to government and corporate bonds, and to bonds maturing in the short, medium and long term.
Is there something worthwhile here?
Thanks very much.

Q: Re the Adjusted Cost Base for BN and BAM (still no symbol comes up), I set mine at 1/4 of the ACB of the original BAM.A. However InvestorLine set my ACB for BAM at less than half that and BN higher than 3/4. I have not seen any discussion anywhere including the BN website for how to establish the ACB. Do you have any information to help?
Q: Dear 5i team.
Please give me your updated assessment of latest financials results reported in early Nov. I do not see a question on this and the stock price seems to be oversold and good value? Appreciate your help to better understand current numbers, and future prospects.
many thanks,

Q: My 26 year old son has some funds to invest in his RRSP. He also holds a TFSA and Cash account and between the 3 accts, he holds, BEP, ECN, BNS, VHI, BAM, GSY, KUT, PBH, TOI, ENB and SLF. We would like to add a couple new names and on our list are TD, MFC, TIXT, GOOG, AMZN and EQB.....if you were advising your son in this situation, how would you rank these 6 stocks for addition to his RRSP? If you could add some colour as to your ranking, that would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks for the great service and advice

Q: Can you comment on the stock with its recent acquisition and its share spike. Would you consider it a buy and if so at what price.
Q: Good afternoon, could you comment on DOCUs last earnings? What are your thoughts about the company? There some things to like for sure if you feel it's turning the corner.
