My preference was tlt as the go to investment.
Recently a new etf has been introduced UTEN which is a 10 yr us t- bill.
It’s present yield is about double that of tlt.
Would you expect both to react the same if and when interest rate increases stop and actually reverse direction

Q: I know that you feel now is a time to dip back into the market as most blue chips are down 25% and more and growth stocks are down 50 to 80%, but with the FED still raising rates maybe another 1.5%, would it not be wiser to not fight the FED and wait. I cannot see the markets going up until these rate increases stop.

Q: Looking at the one year charts for LSPD and SHOP, haven’t they bottomed? LSPD was trading below where it is today back in May and SHOP back in June.

Q: I have started travelling again and noticed that Air Canada flights are essentially full. I looked at a 3 year chart for the stock share price and it is down from about $50 to $18, obviously due to the pandemic. I noticed that you provided growth data in response to a question where the growth next year is expected to be 128%. This sounded good.

I used your symbol look-up tool to view the AC’s profile and compared it to Delta Airlines (DAL). AC has 359M shares out compared to DAL’s 641M. AC’s EPS and PB is -6.9 and 45.1 whereas DAL is +0.12 and 8.0. DAL is rebounded a bit more than AC but why was AC at $50/share anyway.

It seems to me AC is not managed well and probably has a lot of debt but your profile screen does not give me that info.

It seems DAL is much more attractive as an investment but I am just looking at very simple metrics. What are your thoughts, please?

Our question today is about CDR's in TFSA accounts and potential tax benefits. If you were to buy Goog, AMZN, and NVDA today, what would be the recommended method?
CDN TFSA: buy CDR's
Open a US TFSA and purchase the stock in US funds (one-time conversion costs would occur)
Purchase the stock in the native currency in the CDN TFSA

Do CDR's reduce exposure to the taxman if death occurs instead of having US domiciled stocks in a TFSA or RRSP or RRIF?

Q: Are there any reasonable tax-loss proxies for LSPD? Thank you!

Q: I have a son who is 31 and is just beginning his investment journey. He currently is looking to learn and has $15,000 to invest. With the uncertainty in the market he is thinking of investing 1/3 now 1/3 in the first quarter and 1/3 in the 2nd quarter. Is 5 stocks a good start with the intention of monthly contributions in the future to build a diversified over a 20-30 year time horizon. My suggestion was a equal amount to start in Royal Bank, Telus, Brookfield Infrastructure, CN Rail and a REIT.
What do you think of this plan or do you have other suggestions.

Q: Generally which size companies provide the best returns after a decline we have experienced,?
All of the above 3 companies ( small, mid, large cap ) are well run with good financials and should be able to ride this out. Is the small cap story played out with investors staying away for a protracted period ? Are mid caps are of the right size to be seen as safer, more liquid,? Are large caps just too large to grow ?
My question is not on these specific 3 companies but is more general in nature as to where to look for best rebound returns. Thanks
